Hero Super Splendor XTEC

Price: Hero has priced the drum brake variant at Rs 84,428, while the disc brake one will cost Rs 88,328, both ex-showroom Delhi.

Design: While the Super Splendor Xtec has an overall commuter design to it, it does have some sporty graphics on the tank and headlight cowl. There's an LED headlight as well as DRL and is available in three shades: Gloss Black, Matt Axis Grey and Candy Blazing Red.

Features: The Super Splendor Xtec might be an economical 125cc commuter but it boasts of quite a lot of pictures. It gets a fully digital LCD console with Bluetooth connectivity. You get call and SMS alerts and it shows a whole bunch of important information like real time mileage, low fuel, service reminder and malfunction alerts. Further adding to the practicality is a USB charging port, Hero’s i3S Start-Stop Tech as well as a side stand engine kill function. In fact, it even gets a bank angle sensor. What it does is switch off the motorcycle if it falls to its side, something that can be helpful in case you have an unfortunate tumble.

Engine: At the heart of the Hero Super Splendor Xtec is a 124.7cc engine making 10.87PS at 7500rpm and 10.6Nm at 6000rpm. The engine is paired to a five-speed gearbox. Suspension duties are handled by a telescopic fork along with twin shocks. The seat height stands at 793mm, ground clearance is 180mm and the Super Splendor weighs just 123kg for the disc variant. The drum variant, meanwhile, tips the scales at 122kg. It gets 18-inch wheels for better stability. Buyers can opt for a 240mm front disc brake instead of the standard 130mm drum unit. At the rear though, there's only the 130mm drum one.
