Honda has launched the snazzy looking Grazia in India today at a price of Rs 57,897 (ex-showroom Delhi). It is Honda’s latest entrant in the 125cc segment and will be placed alongside the Activa 125. The Grazia too comes across as an elder sibling of the Honda Dio, with similar design cues. That said, the Grazia looks sharper and bolder than the Dio. It is available in three variants - Standard, Standard Alloy and Deluxe. 1000 bookings have already been made and deliveries will start from today itself.

The stout two-tone front apron incorporates sharp looking LED headlamps (a first in the Indian scooter market) that gives it a lot of appeal. Overall, Honda designers have chiselled the body lines to make the look sportier, in order to attract its target audience i.e. a younger college going crowd. It also gets a all-digital instrument console, 3-step eco speed indicator and 4-in-1 lock with seat opener switch.

This new 125cc scooter also gets a semi-digital instrument console, with the digital display offering information like time, fuel gauge, odometer and tripmeter. Similar to the Dio, the Honda Grazia too gets plastic body panels as opposed to the metal body seen on the Activa 125, which should make it lighter and also quicker to 60kmph by a certain margin. The Honda Grazia is powered by the same motor that powers the Activa 125: a 124.9cc unit that continues to churn out 8.5PS of power @6500rpm and 10.54Nm of peak torque.

To handle the not-so-good Indian road conditions, Honda has equipped the Grazia with telescopic front forks and a monoshock unit at the rear. The 12-inch front and 10-inch alloys at the rear are bolted with 130mm drum brakes on the standard variant, while a 190mm front disc brake is an optional extra. CBS (Combi Braking System) is available as standard. Tyres are 90/90 and 90/100 at the front and rear respectively.

The Honda Grazia is offered in 6 colour options and will compete against the Suzuki Access 125 and the Vespa 125 range in terms of engine capacity as well as all the scooter offerings from various manufacturers in the 100-110cc range. The 125cc segment is bound to see some more action in the near future as TVS, Hero and Suzuki are likely to launch the Graphite, Dare and the Swish 125, respectively.
