The latest update on Suzuki’s international portfolio comes in the form of the 2021 Burgman 400. Yes, the Burgman 125 does have an elder sibling in the global Suzuki lineup. So, here’s how the Burgman 400 is now a tad bit more modern.
Starting from the powertrain. Suzuki has updated the 400cc single-cylinder liquid-cooled motor, making it compliant with the Euro 5 norms. It makes 29PS of power and 35.2Nm of torque. With a new twin-plug cylinder head, the 2021 Burgman 400 produces better low-range and mid-range torque. The engine startup is quicker and idling has been revised altering the ignition timing.
On the feature front, the Burgman 400 gets a recalibrated traction control system and a lighter ABS unit. Apart from the said updates, the maxi-scooter continues to sport LED lights, a humungous 42-litre underseat storage, and a 12V power socket.
Suzuki has employed the same suspension as before -- telescopic front forks and link-type coil spring at the rear. Braking duties are done by twin discs up front and a single disc at the rear.
The 2021 Suzuki Burgman 400 is priced at GBP 7,000 (approximately Rs 6.02 lakh) in the UK. Given its premium pricing and the fact that maxi-scooters haven’t been a popular genre here, it’s clear that the Burgman 400 won’t be heading to India anytime soon.
