18 Youngsters selected as Nissan Student Brand Managers 2011

Selected Student Brand Managers will now play a key role in bringing the brand Nissan closer to both the student community and the public in general through innovative marketing initiatives

After receiving an overwhelming response during the registration process of its second Nissan Student Brand Managers Program in India, the Japanese car maker has now finally selected 18 enterprising students from across India to be a part of a special marketing team for the company for the next six month.

Christened as Nissan’s Student Brand Manager’s these talented youngsters were chosen from 2,843 student registrations from over 450 colleges across 15 Indian cities. The registration process that took place in four centres i.e. Mumbai, Delhi, Chennai and Bangalore saw immense participation primarily from the country’s capital, where over   1,146 students registered for the program. This was followed by Mumbai with 876 student applications, Chennai with 433 and Bengaluru with 388 applications.

While many of the top engineering and business colleges took part in the selection rounds, the students who finally made it to the final 18, came from colleges like IIM - Kolkata, IIM - Ahmedabad, IIFT - Delhi, K.J. Somaiya Institute of Management Studies and Research  and  SIBM - Bangalore amongst others.

Addressing the final shortlisted 18 youth, Mr. Dinesh Jain, CEO, Hover Automotive India (HAI) said, “Enthused by the response to the program this year, we are sure that a larger number of institutes and students will vie for NSBM 2012.”

The 18-selected Student Brand Managers will now play a key role in bringing brand Nissan closer to both the student community and the public in general through innovative marketing initiatives. After undergoing training, the students will work closely with company officials on a variety of initiatives. The Nissan Student Brand Managers for 2011 are as follows:

For those of interested, the selection program will also be telecast in a 30 minutes format on Bloomberg UTV in five episodes, which includes four zonal rounds and one grand finale. The details of the telecast are as follows:

•    Bangalore Zone – July 16, 2011
•    Chennai Zone – July 23, 2011
•    Delhi Zone – July 30, 2011
•    Mumbai Zone - August 6, 2011
•    Grand Finale - August 13, 2011
