Not so long ago, Nissan introduced its popular SUV Terrano in a limited edition avatar. This time round, in a bid to keep its model range fresh, the Micra has been given an update. They have also added an automatic transmission to its mid-spec XL variant and christened it as the X-Shift. Nissan has priced the X-Shift at Rs 6.39 lakh (ex-showroom Delhi) or Rs 6.67 lakh (ex-showroom Mumbai). Nissan will offer just 750 units of this limited edition version of Micra X-Shift in India.
Now for the changes. On the outside, the Micra X-Shift gets a blackened out roof and a racing stripe at the bottom end of the doors on either side of the car. Other changes include, the addition of an exhaust tip and chequered flag accent piece on the door sills. Since it's a mid-spec variant, the Micra X-Shift doesn't come equipped with alloy wheels and front and rear fog lamps.
There are changes on the inside too, the most prominent ones being the new steering wheel that has now been borrowed from the Sunny and a redesigned centre console. The infotainment system now also gets Bluetooth, AUX and USB connectivity even on this mid-variant. Moreover, these changes to the exterior and the interior will also be incorporated on the rest of the Micra variants.

The Micra X-Shift will be offered with a petrol unit that displaces 1,198cc. This unit makes makes power of 75 horses and produces 104Nm of torque. And comes mated to a CVT transmission. The Micra X-Shift will compete against the likes of the Hyundai Grand i10 and the Honda Brio automatic.
