Q. Which is better AMT OR CVT. When I search for best automatic car in India, Nissan micra with CVT is not listed. Why? Is it a good car to buy?
  • CVT is better. Nissan discontinued Micra in 2020
  • AMT is a technology, which takes away clutch operation from the car driver. Essentially it's the same manual gearbox requiring same pattern of servicing. Manual selection of gears are provisioned here.CVT doesn't have clutch and couples transmission & engine with torque converter. This torque converter is basically a fluid transmission and avoids engine stalling . Also, it provides few torque for creep motion and provides a good anti roll back action during uphill start. There is no j**k like thing and overspeeding of engine.Nissan offers CVT in Datsun GO, GO+ and Micra (not Micra active) with 1.2L petrol engine. It's one of the lowest price package of CVT in the market.

Road noise/insulation

Positive- stable and solid built.Very good and soft during during city commutes.No power lag for sudden overtakes even though its cvt.Mileage in highways and tours was around 18-19 kmpl tops.Well tuned suspension and road grip is good.For daily commute and reliability its good even during huge down pour the car was immersed atleast 2 metrs in water - it didnt budge to stop or underpowered due to cvt transmission.Paint quality is good.Negative- in highways adds reasonable weight but road noise/insulation is very bad compared to other new age cars.Feature list is below par with new age cars.

Comfortable And Good Mileage Car

It's a good car. I drove around 1000 km on weekly basis. I have had it since 2013. The best thing about it is the engine that is 1461cc can you imagine at the time all other brand cars specially hatchback have around 1200cc max. I have an xv premium version at that time it's a top version of Micra. It came with the feature of keyless entry in 2013. Adequate boots space heavy build quality is good and the only negative point is that it's hard to find a mechanic and spare parts for this one. I still get the mileage of 19-22 km on the highway and in the city, it's 17-19 km.

My Nissan Micra is better than other hatchbacks but this costing is very high it is above 12 lakh rupees in 2014 it is white colour that time in 2014 I think to buy red colour of Nissan Micra my Nissan Micra has smart key I love this feature in 2014 car have smart key I love my Nissan Micra I don't sell it Manisha and Micra like it my Maruti 800 I have Maruti 800 in 2008 I sell it

This has been 1st car.Its one of the best car with powerful engine of 1.5 liter.The car has the best mileage one can get.In city its around 14kmpl.On highways it goes up to 18 to 19 kmpl.One of the fines engines to drive.As a hatchback it has its shortcoming of space a long distance nausea.Having said, Its one of the pleasant drives to drive.
