The 2026 edition of the Royal Enfield Slide School Cup wrapped up with an action-packed finale that delivered exactly what flat track racing promises – close battles, dramatic moments and riders pushing the limits of control on dirt. With finalists coming from different parts of the country, the championship decider turned into a thrilling contest that kept spectators on edge till the very end.
The final round saw 12 riders vying for the title. These twelve were the top three in each of the four regional selection rounds that took place earlier in Goa, Bengaluru, Pune and Jaipur. At the end, the top four that made it through some hard-fought races were Sreeraj Harshan, Kayan Patel, Sultan Shaikh and Clinton Cordeiro. All four lined up aboard the Royal Enfield FT450, a flat track motorcycle derived from the Guerrilla 450 platform. The championship finale featured two races, with points awarded based on finishing positions in each race, making consistency just as important as outright speed.
The first moto began with an electrifying start as all four riders charged into the opening corner almost together. Early laps saw Sreeraj Harshan quickly finding his rhythm and pulling ahead of the pack.

The fight for second place was intense. Kayan Patel and Sultan Shaikh traded blows while Clinton Cordeiro remained close enough to capitalise on any mistake. That opportunity came when Kayan had a spill mid-race, dropping him down the order and allowing Sultan and Clinton to move ahead.
At the chequered flag, Sreeraj secured the win in the opening moto, with Sultan finishing second and Clinton third. Kayan recovered but had to settle for fourth place.
With the championship still open, the second and final moto of the season promised more drama. As the lights went out, Kayan Patel grabbed the holeshot and immediately took control of the race. Meanwhile, Sultan and Clinton engaged in another close fight for second place, while Sreeraj found himself running fourth early on.
However, the race was far from over. A few laps later, Sreeraj began carving his way through the field. He first overtook Clinton with a tight inside move before setting his sights on Sultan. On the final lap, at the last corner, Sreeraj executed a decisive pass to take second place – a move that proved crucial in the final championship standings.

Once the points from both motos were tallied, Sreeraj Harshan emerged as the winner of the 2026 Royal Enfield Slide School Cup. Kayan Patel finished as the runner-up, while Sultan Shaikh secured third place overall.
The finale delivered exactly the kind of racing that makes flat track such an engaging discipline – tight battles, dramatic slides and last-lap moves. With events like the Royal Enfield Slide School Cup gaining traction, it would not be surprising to see flat track racing attract a larger following in India in the coming years.
