Royal Enfield GRR Nights X Underground: Ballet Dance On Wheels highlights

The recently-held Royal Enfield GRR Nights X Underground event was a drift show with some exotic cars, as well as the Guerrilla 450. One of the event’s highlights was a tandem drift of the Royal Enfield Guerrilla and Mercedes C-Class. The car drift show was organised by Tapaswi Racing, who had a bunch of drift experts, like Jeet Tapaswi and Sanam Sekhon, giving the audience a full Tokyo Drift experience, but right here in Pune.

While the cars put on a drift show, Royal Enfield launched a new Guerrilla 450 colour scheme. There were a whole bunch of modified Royal Enfield bikes like a custom Continental GT 650, and a custom Shotgun 650 – with an entirely new rear end! It’s always a sight to see well-made custom RE bikes.

However, for those who weren’t satisfied by just looking at cars and bikes, there was a basic drift training event with the Royal Enfield Guerrilla 450. You read that right. One could learn the art of doing donuts on a bike. Looking from afar, it seems like it is just about modulating the clutch and throttle, while grabbing on to the front brake, and then nudging the bike sideways to make a donut. In reality, it’s a difficult thing to learn, but so much fun to do, especially when you do it right. It just gets more fun as you get the hang of it.

After all that was done, it was time to see the pros do it. They were, quite-literally, dancing with specially-modified Guerrillas – like a carefully choreographed ballet on two-wheels, but to the beat of some party music. It didn’t end there though. The riders went on to the Underground car drift arena for a polyphony of burning rubber. It didn't matter if you only loved cars or bikes; it was a spectacle to see this dance of the wheels! It went on into the night to the backdrop of banging party beats, and the night concluded with a set from Kratex. All in all, it was a proper party for the automotive enthusiasts with all the right elements.
