2025 has turned into one of the most interesting years for motorcyclists in India. Across segments, manufacturers have focused more on giving riders motorcycles that really bring a smile to one’s face. From hardcore adventure machines to electric streetfighters and accessible performance bikes, here are five launches that were genuinely fun to ride this year:

KTM finally split the 390 ADV into two clear personalities, and that alone makes it one of the most important launches of the year. The KTM 390 Adventure is now more off-road-focused, while the 390 Enduro R goes all-in on off-road ability. Both use the updated 399cc liquid-cooled single producing around 46PS, paired with a 6-speed gearbox. The effortless low-end grunt, inherent lightness, fantastic suspension setup made both the 390 Adventure and the KTM 390 Enduro R a proper hoot to ride - be it on the tarmac or off the roads.

The Ducati Panigale V4 continues to be a reminder of what a no-compromise superbike feels like. Powered by a 1103cc V4 engine making over 216PS, it’s as extreme as road-legal motorcycles get. Updated aerodynamics, revised electronics and chassis tweaks for 2025 make it even sharper on track. It’s wildly impractical for Indian roads, but you’ll forget all about that when you’re busy endlessly giggling inside your helmet.

The Ultraviolette X47 Crossover shows how far electric motorcycles have come in a short span of time. With aggressive styling, a high-mounted tail and sharp bodywork, it doesn’t try to look friendly. The electric motor produces performance comparable to a 300cc petrol bike, while the battery pack promises a fairly usable real-world range. Fast charging and advanced rider aids give it proper big-bike intent.

Aprilia took the RS 457’s excellent fundamentals and turned it into something far more usable. The Aprilia Tuono 457 uses the same 457cc parallel-twin engine producing around 47PS, but swaps clip-ons for a wide handlebar, resulting in a more relaxed riding triangle. This middleweight naked feels sporty, without demanding racetrack-level commitment from the rider.

The Hero Xtreme 250R might be the most pleasant surprise of the year. Hero’s new 250cc liquid-cooled single focuses on balanced performance rather than headline numbers. With sharp streetfighter styling, a lightweight chassis, USD fork and a colour LCD console, it finally feels like a serious step up from the brand. It can handle daily commutes as well as weekend fun rides with equal enthusiasm - a true Hero in our books!
