Handles like a sportsbike, offroads like a motocross and has more features than any of its rivals!

KTM recently launched the 2025 390 Adventure in India and had the opportunity to ride it in Goa, take it off-road and do a long ride back to Pune. Here are the top-5 things which we liked the most about the new adventure motorcycle.

Engine Characteristics

The new KTM 390 Adventure shares the same engine as the 3rd generation 390 Duke. The engine which feels like an absolute maniac on the Duke feels very different on the 390 Adventure. It feels quite chilled out on the ADV which allows it to do city speeds without breaking a sweat. On the highways, one can easily cruise at 100kmph all-day long while having enough grunt to reach a top-speed of over 160kmph.

Handling

The KTM 390 Adventure has a very imposing stance which is due to the large front-end and a 21-inch front wheel. Despite its large size, the 390 Adventure handles unlike any ADV. The 21-inch front feels like a 17-inch, and is very nimble. The bike is eager to change directions on a dime and attacking corners feels like second nature.

With a kerb weight of 182kg, the motorcycle is very easy to manage especially at slow speeds and while going offroad. The good weight distribution means that you do not feel the heft of the motorcycle while lifting it off the side-stand or maneuvering in tight parking spaces.

The bike has a seat height of 830mm but the seat profile is quite narrow which allows for a 5’9” rider to be able to flatfoot easily.

Ride Quality

Whether it be offroad or on smooth highways, thanks to the adjustable suspension of the 390 Adventure, its ride quality can be adjusted to one’s preference. The long travel suspension absorbs everything you throw at it while being very composed and keeps you stable.

Features

Its a tech-fest when it comes to the features on the 2025 KTM 390 Adventure. It shares the same 5-inch TFT display as the 390 Duke, and gets cruise control, cornering ABS, cornering traction control, and three riding modes: Rain, Street and Offroad. One even has the option to change throttle response in the Offroad mode. That said, the highlight of the feature list is the bidirectional quickshifter. It is buttery smooth even at low-speeds and is arguably the best quickshifter on any Indian made bike!

Design

Looks are subjective and we think the KTM 390 Adventure looks absolutely smashing! Unlike the previous generation of the 390 Adventure which looked like a hopped up street bike, the latest generation looks very purposeful. It has a mass forward design and a slim-tail, reminding you of Dakar rally bikes, which we feel is an eye-candy for sure.

ZigSays

KTM has nailed the 390 Adventure this time around making it a very desirable bike. Be it the looks, performance, handling, equipment on offer or the features it comes with, the 390 Adventure is a complete motorcycle. This makes it a great option for anyone who is looking for a do-it-all machine for their one-bike garage.
