Suzuki Access 125: Standout Features
Suzuki Gixxer Range Reportedly Getting Much Needed Revival Soon

Suzuki is finally ready to breathe new life into the Gixxer range, as the current Suzuki Gixxer 150 and 250 line-up has remained more or less the same for years now. The sporty commuters have been completely overshadowed by newer, sharper, and feature-packed rivals from TVS, Bajaj and Yamaha. Sales of both the 150cc and Suzuki Gixxer 250 have shrunken down to miniscule levels, making this upcoming update a crucial revival.
To put things into perspective, here’s a sales break-up of Suzuki bikes in the last three months:

Clearly, the Suzuki Gixxer SF 250 and its naked sibling are struggling to find takers. While the 150s are doing marginally better, their numbers are far from confidence-inspiring. It’s a sobering report card, and one that underlines just how badly the Gixxers need this upcoming overhaul. Even the Suzuki V-Strom SX, which shares showroom space with the Gixxers, has been consistently outperforming them.

Suzuki is reportedly developing an all-new platform for both classes, with the next-generation models expected to bring major mechanical and visual changes. These bikes are especially important for the brand, as the Gixxer range and V-Strom SX are the only Suzuki bikes made in India.
To stay in the fight, Suzuki is expected to overhaul the underpinnings, and significantly upgrade the feature list as well. Expect modern additions like TFT consoles at least on higher variants – as even the Suzuki Access 125 now gets it. Hardware upgrades such as an upside-down fork is also likely.

Styling wise, both the Suzuki Gixxer SF models could take inspiration from the brand’s larger bikes like the Suzuki GSX-8R. As for the next-generation Gixxer and Gixxer 250, expect the design to be pared-down versions of the GSX-8S. In fact, we’ve already seen this happen with the V-Strom SX taking inspiration from the V-Strom 1050 (V-twin engine be damned).
It’s reported that the next generation Gixxer 150 and 250 models might be launched either toward the end of 2026 or early 2027. We reckon 2027 to be more realistic as we haven’t seen any test mules yet (at least on the interwebs for now). If Suzuki gets this reboot right, the Gixxer name might finally claw its way back into relevance.
