Shares the same engine as BMW’s WSBK bike
Ever since BMW Motorrad introduced the S 1000 RR in 2009, the bike has captivated the eyes and hearts of all enthusiasts alike. Introduced with its asymmetric headlight design and the ‘shark gills’ like aero on the side panels, the bike looked lip-smackingly awesome, making it a bike anyone would want in their garage. Fast forward to 2025, BMW Motorrad has unveiled the Concept RR; a motorcycle which showcases how BMW’s future S 1000 RR superbike might look like.

B In BMW Means Business
From every single angle, the BMW Motorrad’s Concept RR looks like it's meant to go fast. The revised bodywork, sharp lines, winglets for downforce, exposed subframe, and the sleeker headlights all look quite menacing. While it is still in its concept avatar, the bike’s body panels are made from carbon fibre and it only comes with a single seat. The final production-spec motorcycle might sport some changes to make it road-legal, but expect it to carry the same design more or less.

From Tracks To Streets
Be it the gorgeous design language or the underpinnings, the Concept RR shares its ethos with BMW Motorrad’s WSBK-winning M 1000 RR motorcycle. The concept bike is powered by the same engine as the race bike, which makes over 230PS. For reference, the road-legal S 1000 RR, which you can buy in India (starts from Rs 21,10,000 ex-showroom), makes 210PS. Once the concept bike does make its way to production, it will comply with the emission norms worldwide.
Apart from the engine, even the suspension and electronics are shared with the race bike, which makes the Concept RR a potent track-ready machine. A track-focused TFT console along with race-derived switchgear, an adjustable swingarm pivot and changeable footpeg position are among the many features the bike comes with.

While this is the first time BMW Motorrad has shown us what the future BMW S 1000 RR will look like, it might take quite a few years for the Concept to make its way to the streets in a road-legal avatar. Once launched, it will go against other litre-class bikes such as the Kawasaki ZX-10R, Ducati Panigale V4 and the Honda CBR1000RR-R.
