Quick Highlights:
The 2025 Kawasaki Ninja 300 has been launched in India
Retains the engine and underpinnings of the previous model
Gets new colour scheme, projector headlights, new windshield and updated tyres
Kawasaki has launched the 2025 Ninja 300, and well, it is the same Ninja 300 that we have all known ever since it was launched in India in 2012. Still, Kawasaki insists that it is an “All new” version. Their words, not ours. As usual, Kawasaki has just thrown in some random updates (some of them are not even very relevant to what the bike lacks) to keep it relevant in 2025.

Yes, the 2025 Kawasaki Ninja 300 does get new colour schemes. The name remains the same, but the colour and the graphics have changed. Along with it, the bike now gets projector headlights, which Kawasaki says have been “inspired by the Ninja ZX-6R”, though we fail to see how they resemble the bigger Ninja. While they are a good addition to have, the Ninja did not really have any major issues with illumination in the previous-gen halogens.
Another update is that of a larger windscreen, which, as per Kawasaki’s statement, is a “ZX-10R style floating windscreen”. This should help in deflecting air better at highway speeds. Last but not least, Kawasaki says the Ninja 300’s tyres have been updated with a different pattern. Note that these are still MRF Nylogrip Zapper tyres.

Apart from these changes, the Ninja remains unchanged. It continues to be powered by a 296cc, liquid-cooled, parallel twin engine, which produces 39PS at 11,000rpm and 26.1Nm at 10,000rpm, mated to a 6-speed gearbox with a slip-and-assist clutch.
The Ninja 300 has always been known for its creamy smooth engine. While it stayed the same, the Ninja always lagged behind when it came to the number of features it had. The bike continues with the semi-digital instrument console. So, a TFT console borrowed from its elder siblings would’ve been just the thing it needed. Another upgrade which the Ninja definitely required was a set of new rubbers. Sure, the MRFs are cheap and last long, but the bike deserves so much better than just that. In 2025, we have some really good yet fairly affordable tyres such as the Apollo Alpha H1, Eurogrip Protorq Extreme and the Ceat Sportrads.

Priced the same at Rs 3,43,000 (ex-showroom, Delhi), the Ninja 300 is still the most affordable fully-faired twin-cylinder motorcycle available in India. As for the sales numbers, Kawasaki sold 965 units of the Ninja 300 in the financial year 2024-25 (April 2024 to March 2025) in India. The number might seem low, but when compared to its nearest rival, the Yamaha R3, which has a sales figure of 298 units, the baby Ninja seems to be doing quite well.
Apart from being the most affordable option out there in the Indian market, the Ninja 300 doesn’t really have much going for it. In our opinion, Kawasaki should either give some serious updates to the baby Ninja (and reduce the price even further) or put the motorcycle to rest, because at this point, it feels like the bike is on ventilator support considering the fact that it has been phased out in most parts of the world.
