Ducati India has unveiled the 2024 Ducati Panigale V4, and the supersport now comes with a bunch of updates to its design and underpinnings. The announcement was shared via social media, and here’s everything you need to know.
The first change that is most easy to notice is the new design that the bike has received. The headlight section has undergone slight change, with the projector LED headlights being replaced with sleeker LED headlights.
The winglets have also seen a slight change, with the placement below the headlight, unlike the earlier version where it was positioned alongside it. The winglets have received a paint finish which makes it feel better integrated than the previous verison’s carbon fibre finish ones.
The styling of the bike has also undergone a few changes, with the fairing being redesigned to ensure better airflow to the radiator and a more aerodynamic profile.
The Panigale V4 is powered by a 1103cc Desmosedici Stradale V4 engine which produces 216PS at 13,500rpm and 120.9Nm at 11,250rpm. The engine now conforms to the strict Euro5+ emission standards.
When looking at the underpinnings, there have been a couple of changes that are hard to miss. The bike now gets a MotoGP-derived front frame with a 17 percent reduction in weight. This is said to improve the bike’s cornering.
Another change is the new swingarm, the Panigale V4 now gets a dual sided swingarm instead of a single-sided one like the previous version. The new one is said to improve the bike’s stability during straight line runs. This change will likely see mixed reception from Ducati enthusiasts as the previous bike’s single-sided swingarm was quite iconic.
In terms of suspension, the bike features Ducati Electronic Suspension (DES) 3.0 system, based on the Öhlins NPX-30 pressurised fork, Öhlins TTX36 rear shock and Öhlins steering damper.
Lastly, Ducati has also given the bike new forged aluminium wheels, which promise a weight reduction of 2.17kg and along with this the brand has added Brembo Hypure Calipers, which are an evolution of the Stylema callipers. The new callipers promise better heat dissipation and improved performance.
When looking at the bike’s ergonomics, Ducati has made quite a bit of changes which has now made the bike more comfortable to riders of all levels. First, the tank has been redesigned and is now more easy to grip when hanging off the bike during corners.
Second, the seat is now 50mm wider and 35mm longer, making it more roomy and comfortable. Lastly, the footpegs are now forward set by 10mm, making the riding posture a bit less committed and easier for most riders.
The Panigale V4 now gets a brand-new 6.9-inch colour TFT screen, with a 1280x480p resolution. The new console promises to offer better visibility under all lighting conditions.
Other than this, Ducati has now introduced a new system called eCBS, which they claim is a different take on ABS. The system was designed in collaboration with Bosch. The system applies braking pressure to the rear according to predefined strategies, freeing up the rider from having to apply rear brake pressure when cornering.
With all of these interesting additions the Ducati Panigale V4 is surely a more interesting proposition. We expect the bike to be launched in India by the end of this year or the beginning of 2025, with an expected price tag that could be around Rs 28 to 31 lakhs ex-showroom.
