The X-ADV, PCX and PCX 160 do not sport any major changes

Honda has launched the 2022 X-ADV, the 2022 PCX 125 and PCX 160 in the Japanese market. While the flagship adventure scooter will reach dealerships July 28 onwards, the PCX twins will hit the streets from June 23.

The Honda X-ADV received its first major update in 2020 since its debut in 2017. Along with the aesthetic and mechanical changes, the Japanese bikemaker also introduced new colours. Though the Japanese market received the new X-ADV last year, the ‘Grand Prix Red’ and the ‘Matte Ballistic Black Metallic’ colours have been launched now.

The 2022 Honda X-ADV sports no mechanical changes, and continues with the same 745cc liquid-cooled parallel-twin mill producing 58PS at 6750rpm and 69Nm at 4750rpm. This engine is mated to a DCT (Dual Clutch Transmission) gearbox.

Even the 2022 PCX 160 and the PCX receive only new colours: Matt Galaxy Black Metallic and the Foggy Blue Metallic. There are no mechanical or aesthetic changes to the products. So, the PCX 125 uses the same 124cc single-cylinder engine producing 12.5PS and 12Nm, while the PCX 160’s 156cc liquid-cooled mill dishes out 15.8PS and 15Nm.

The 2022 Honda X-ADV has been priced at JPY 13,20,000 or Rs 7.64 lakh, while the 2022 PCX and PCX 160 demand equivalent of Rs 2.07 lakh and Rs 2.35 lakh respectively. While Honda Motorcycle and Scooter India (HMSI) has stayed away from the premium scooter segment till now, the brand has patented the X-ADV in India which hints at the adventure scooter’s India debut.
