2025 Suzuki Access 125 Road Test Review: Japanese Perfection?

Having a scooter in an Indian household simply makes life a whole lot easier. The TVS Jupiter is a perfect scooter for day-to-day errands. And I dont use the word perfect lightly. We had the opportunity to ride the scooter last year and it blew our minds away! The way it handles, the riding posture and the sheer comfort it offers is unmatched by any other 110cc scooter in India. Not to mention the tonnes of under seat storage. So when I was offered the key to the Jupiter, I was delighted as my commute is a particularly lengthy one with pretty much everything in the mix.
My daily commuter is the Aprilia SR150 which is a clunky scooter with a lot of vibes, quite literally. Though it is deceptively quick, it has a harsh ride quality, and is also one of the least practical scooters one could buy in India. But parting ways from the sporty Aprilia for a while is going to be an interesting affair as the Jupiter promises to be fun, as well as a comfy 110cc commuter scooter.

I find the TVS Jupiter to be a handsome-looking 110cc commuter scooter. The design of the latest generation looks considerably more modern while not straying too far away from the Jupiter’s familiar design language. A new trick up the Jupiter’s sleeve is the small hybrid assist which gives it a temporary boost of 0.6Nm to aid in faster overtakes. The scooter’s fuel tank has been relocated and is placed underneath the floorboard which in turn increased the underseat storage capacity to 33 litres compared to the 21 litres on the previous generation. The Jupiter, in fact, has the largest underseat storage capacity in its segment. This makes a world of a difference in its utility factor as it was able to accommodate my backpack with a 14-inch laptop. I could finally say bye-bye to the hassle of carrying the backpack on my back, which invariably leads to sweaty backs in this unforgiving Pune heat.
Coming from the sporty Aprilia SR150, the Jupiter feels worlds apart in my everyday commute. My work to the office and back is a 60km journey, filled with broken roads, traffic snarls, and bits of highway stretches. The Jupiter feels extremely forgiving to my back as the supple suspension works with the 12-inch wheels hand-in-glove. While it may not be as peppy as the SR150, it still had reasonable grunt (for a 110cc scooter) for my everyday commutes. How objectively good it is, is something I’ll learn once I put in more kilometers.
Will the Jupiter live up to its reputation of being a practical, fuss-free scooter? Will it handle the daily stress of long-distance commuting on an everyday basis? Keep watching this space for the next update on our long-term TVS Jupiter.
