If a Delhi RTO document is anything to go by, we now have our hands on the Mahindra XUV700’s variant lineup. The SUV will be offered in two broad trims: MX and AdrenoX (AX). The former is the entry-level trim, while the latter is a step-up with top-spec variants featuring autonomous driver assistance systems.

Save for the MX Diesel, Mahindra has homologated all variants with manual and automatic transmissions.
The top-spec variant, AX7, is only available as a seven-seater. And if you want an all-wheel drivetrain, your choice is limited to the top-spec AX7 Diesel AT.
The C, T, and L in the top-spec AX7 are the optional packs. They are possible abbreviations for ‘Comfort’, ‘Technology’, and ‘Luxury’.
All variants may not be available from Day 1 as these are just homologations.

As of now, Mahindra has confirmed the prices of four 5-seater (manual) variants: MX Petrol (Rs 11.99 lakh), MX Diesel (Rs 12.49 lakh), AX3 Petrol (Rs 13.99 lakh), and AX5 Petrol (Rs 14.99 lakh).

The XUV700 gets two engine options: 2-litre petrol and a 2.2-litre diesel. The latter is offered in a lower state of tune (with a manual gearbox) in the entry-level MX. Both engines can be paired with manual and automatic transmission options.

Now, to the features. The top-spec variants come with a 10.25-inch digital driver display, a 10.25-inch touchscreen infotainment system, Alexa connected car tech, wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, a panoramic sunroof, powered driver seat with memory function, a 3D sound system, and dual-zone climate control.

Passenger safety is taken care of by seven airbags, ABS with EBD, parking sensors, a 360-degree camera with blind spot monitoring, electronic stability control, and tyre pressure monitoring. Moreover, the SUV gets driver-assistance features like lane-keeping assist, adaptive cruise control, high beam assist, autonomous emergency braking, and forward collision warning.

Prices of the other XUV700 variants should be out soon. The SUV rivals seven-seater alternatives like the Tata Safari, MG Hector Plus, and Hyundai Alcazar. Also, the five-seater version is an alternative to the Hyundai Creta, Kia Seltos, and Tata Harrier.
