Mahindra has finally launched the much-awaited XUV 7XO today, and as part of its upgrades, the SUV has received a comprehensive makeover in its styling. With many elements drawing inspiration from the XEV 9S, it now looks bolder and more modern in line with other recent Mahindras as well. Curious? Here is a walkaround of the XUV 7XO’s exterior styling in 9 real-life images:
Starting from the front-end, the XUV 7XO adopts a curvy and minimal theme. You see a new grille, with a larger ‘twin-peaks’ logo in the centre. This is flanked by restyled headlamps, which now house a twin-pod LED projector setup. However, Mahindra has retained the iconic ‘C-shaped’ DRL signature, albeit with slight improvements.

Below, it now gets a more shapely bumper, along with a larger air-dam which now also houses the LED foglamps. You also get to see a more prominent faux silver skid plate at the bottom.

Moving on to the side profile, it still bears close resemblance to the pre-facelift XUV700, with elements like flush-fit door handles, muscular haunches and a ‘floating-roof’ effect for the C-pillar.

That said, Mahindra has made a few changes, including new 19-inch alloy wheels finished in gloss black with silver borders, gloss black finish for the cladding and black ORVMs in dual-tone variants.

At the rear-end as well, there have been major changes in the form of reworked taillamps with ‘honeycomb-pattern’ detailing and black casing. While it does not get connected taillamps, instead the XUV 7XO has a black panel between the taillights for more distinction.

Besides these, it now also gets a new rear bumper with a gloss-black insert and a more aggressive spoiler on the hatch. We also get to see an ‘XUV 7XO’ badge on the bottom edge of the tailgate, while the variant badge has been placed just below the right taillamp.

Mahindra’s XUV 7XO aims to build upon the immense success of the XUV700, with a thorough facelift and a new name to enhance the credentials of Mahindra’s flagship SUV brand. It gets major updates outside, a new interior layout with three 12.3-inch screens and a longer equipment list.

Sitting alongside the Scorpio N and Thar ROXX, Mahindra equips the XUV 7XO with features such as a panoramic sunroof, X-way powered front seats, multi-colour ambient lighting, wireless chargers, ventilated front and rear seats, powered ‘Boss mode’ and a 16-speaker Harman Kardon sound system.
Safety-wise, it gets 7 airbags, a Level 2 ADAS suite with 5 radars, hill hold assist, electronic stability control, electronic parking brake with auto-hold, 540 degree camera and front and rear parking sensors.

It is powered by either a 2-litre turbo-petrol or 2.2-litre diesel engine options, mated to 6-speed manual and automatic transmission options. You can check out this story for more details on the XUV 7XO.
Sleeker looks, new design elements and tweaks all around help the XUV 7XO look a lot more modern, while retaining the styling elements which we loved from the XUV700. There is no doubt in our mind that it will go on to enrich the legacy of the XUV brand even further by offering a compelling package at an attractive price.
