Mahindra has given us our first look inside the XUV 7XO, now that pre-bookings are open. This teaser reveals two important details, along with giving us an idea of how the interior could look like. But what are these features? Let’s take a look:
From the earlier teasers shown till now, we got an idea of the exterior design revisions that Mahindra is planning. However, this time around, we get to see how the facelifted version of the popular XUV700 feels inside. Starting off from the dashboard, the teaser reveals that the XUV 7XO will get a new design with a 12.3-inch three-screen layout consisting of a digital instrument cluster, touchscreen infotainment system and a passenger entertainment display, just like its siblings, such as the XEV 9S and XEV 9e.

Along with this new dashboard, we can also see a new gloss black two-spoke steering wheel design with an illuminated logo as well, which has made its way into the XUV 7XO

Another important detail is that Mahindra has finally confirmed that the XUV 7XO will come equipped with a powered ‘Boss Mode’ feature, which will be especially useful for chauffeur-driven buyers. Besides this, we also get to see a dual-tone white-tan interior theme for a more upmarket experience inside.
While these couple of features have been confirmed, the XUV 7XO is also likely to get features such as a panoramic sunroof, ventilated front and rear seats, powered front seats, wireless charger, multi-colour ambient lighting, LED headlamps and sliding second row seats.

In terms of safety, it is expected to be equipped with a Level 2 ADAS suite, 7 airbags, electronic stability control, electronic parking brake with auto-hold, 360-degree camera, front and rear parking sensors and hill hold assist.
Under the hood, the XUV 7XO is likely to carry the same powertrains as the pre-facelift XUV700, which includes 2-litre turbo-petrol and 2.2-litre diesel engine options. Here are the detailed specifications of these powertrains:
|

Notably, while the petrol is front-wheel drive only, the 2.2-litre diesel also gets an optional all-wheel drive powertrain as well, which could also make it to the XUV 7XO.
While Mahindra is yet to confirm the official launch date of the XUV 7XO, it has announced that it will be unveiled on January 5, 2025. We have got unconfirmed rumours that the 7XO will be launched on the same day. Pre-bookings are already open for interested customers for a booking amount of Rs 21,000. While we await the price announcement, we expect the XUV 7XO to be priced in the range of Rs 15 lakh to Rs 25 lakh (ex-showroom).

As for the competition, when launched, it will go up against cars like the Tata Harrier and Safari, MG Hector Plus, Jeep Compass and the Hyundai Alcazar.
Just when you thought 2025 was a busy year for the auto industry, we already have exciting stuff lined up for next year! And with the fabulous sales run of the XUV700, all eyes are on the renamed facelift to see if it is able to catch the fancy of buyers when it is unveiled next month.
