The riding stance is somewhat similar to that of the KTM 390 Duke

The Triumph-Bajaj Roadster and Scrambler are among the most hotly anticipated motorcycles and we have spotted the former doing test runs around Pune for the first time. We managed to catch a faint glimpse of the bike's instrument console and it could be a semi-digital one.

Otherwise, not many bits have changed on this mule. From the fenders to the bar-end mirrors, there’s not a lot that’s changed from the bike that was spotted abroad. That said, this mule seems to have a gaudy-looking large saree guard and a different headlight bracket to secure the headlight-mounted number plate.

The bike’s also seen with what seems to be a secondary crash guard right ahead of the rider’s foot, something we guess is just an extra layer of protection for the bike’s underbelly. On the other hand, the one spotted abroad had a well-fitting metal bash plate with corrugations up top.

Its heart will likely be a 350-400cc liquid-cooled one possibly making around 35PS. Underpinnings, as we’ve previously seen, will be a USD fork and monoshock. Stopping power comes from disc brakes at both ends. Previous spy shots show that the bike gets a radial caliper up front. The roadster will probably get dual-channel ABS as standard.

The upcoming bike could make its way to India later this year and we expect it to come with a price tag of Rs 2.25 lakh (ex-showroom). It would compete against the likes of the Honda CB300R, BMW G 310 R, Zontes GK350 and the KTM 390 Duke.
