Skoda’s Kushaq has been one of its important models ever since its launch in 2021. Being the first Skoda product to be developed on the MQB-A0-IN platform, it is responsible for giving a significant boost to the brand in India. However, four years later sales have slowed down while competition has moved on. To regain the mojo, Skoda plans to introduce a facelift for the Kushaq soon and we have spotted it on test. What exactly is on the cards? Read on:
From the spy shots, it is clear that there are going to be cosmetic changes, however they will be mostly restricted to the front and rear end of the SUV. While no sheet metal changes are expected, we can see that there could be a redesigned bumper with a larger air dam, a new grille and updated headlamps at the front. Like the more premium Skoda Kodiaq, we expect some lighting elements in the grille to give it a more posh appeal.
At the rear, the changes seem more minimal with likely updates to the bumper design and a new connected design for the taillamps. In terms of side profile, it remains similar to the current model barring a redesign for the alloy wheels. The Kushaq facelift could also receive new colour options.

Being a facelift, we expect the Kushaq to keep a similar layout inside. However, we expect new colour options and upholstery to give it an up-to-date look. Also, like with any other facelift, we expect Skoda to introduce some additional features.

Presently, the Kushaq gets equipment such as a 10.1-inch touchscreen infotainment system, an 8-inch digital driver’s display single pane sunroof, power adjustable front seats with ventilation, ambient lighting, single-zone climate control and a wireless phone charger.
However, given that the current feature list is similar to the smaller Kylaq, Skoda could add a whole lot more premium amenities in the Kushaq facelift to differentiate both the cars. We expect it to come with features such as a panoramic sunroof, 360 degree camera, updated touchscreen and digital driver’s display as well as a better sound system.
In terms of safety features, it is expected to get a Level-2 ADAS suite which could improve the already extensive safety package it offers including 6 airbags, electronic stability program, hill hold control, tyre pressure monitoring system and a reverse camera. The Kushaq also has a 5-star Global NCAP safety rating.

Under the hood, the engine options are expected to remain unchanged. Currently, the Kushaq offers a choice of two engine options including 1.0-litre and 1.5-litre turbo-petrols. Both the options can be had with automatic transmissions, while the smaller engine also offers a manual gearbox.

Considering the updates, we expect the Kushaq facelift to be priced between Rs 11 lakh to Rs 20 lakh (ex-showroom). Skoda is expected to launch the Kushaq facelift in the first quarter of 2026.
It will compete with the likes of Hyundai Creta, Kia Seltos, Tata Curvv, Maruti Victoris and Honda Elevate.
