MG Hector Tomahawk EV

MG has launched the new Hector Tomahawk EV at an introductory price of Rs 19.49 lakh onwards. The Tomahawk is MG's new all-electric SUV with 7 seats, going up against the likes of the XEV 9s. They already have an ICE Hector SUV which is of a similar size.

MG has been among the prominent EV players in India along with Indian manufacturers like Mahindra and Tata.

MG has been setting its foot in different segments of the EV market, right from the MG Comet to the luxury MPV like the M9 and the Cybester sports car. Let’s explore the new Hector Tomahawk EV and whether it is a worthy competitor to the already established eSUV market dominated by the Indians.

2026 MG Hector Tomahawk: Price

The Tomahawk EV is priced from Rs 19.49 lakh ex-showroom onwards. It is offered in one battery pack option. And prices for each are as follows:

Battery Pack

  • The Tomahawk is available with only one battery pack option with a 69.2 kWh capacity.

  • Both the lower variants get a 7-seater configuration as standard.
  • This sits bang on against the Indian competition with multiple seating options on the top-end variant.

  • The Rs 13.99 lakh Battery-as-a-Service option will make it easier to get a large eSUV from the entry price of a sub-4-metre SUV.

2026 MG Hector Tomahawk: Exterior

The Hector Tomahawk has an unmistakable SUV stance thanks to its boxy upright proportions. The front end has its distinctive double-stacked LED DRLs that give the Tomahawk its identity from a distance. Since this is an EV, the Tomahawk has a blanked-out front grille with the side air curtains on either side of the bumper. Notice the backlit MG logo sitting proud on the fascia. On the lower half, you do find a small air dam which helps cool the battery and is finished with a faux silver skid plate on the bottom.

The side profile is tall and lengthy with large windows. This is unique to this SUV since a typical side profile of an SUV usually has smaller side windows placed higher up. This will help to give the cabin an airy feel and give an extra sense of space.

Despite being an SUV, the side profile does look like it is stretched to make it roomy inside while having good proportions. The black plastic cladding on the wheel arches reminds you that the Tomahawk is an SUV. The dual-tone 18-inch alloy wheels are also decently sized, but a size larger would’ve made it look more proportional.

The rear end carries the tall-boxy design. Like the front, the LED taillamps also have a double-stacked design. The overall design here is kept rather simple but has small design touches like the horizontal accent line on the bootlid and the silver trim on the lower half of the bumper.

2026 MG Hector Tomahawk: Interior

The Hector Tomahawk is a departure from what we know of the regular Hector. The Tomahawk adopted a minimalist design on the dashboard with a large 15.6-inch screen, which is almost Tesla-like. However, what’s not Tesla-like is the inclusion of a small digital driver’s display and the chunky-looking air vents on either corner of the dashboard. The dual-tone interior looks decently made, with a leatherette-wrapped finish on most touchpoints.

Interior space is generous for both the front and second-row passengers. The upright seating, large window openings and the large panoramic roof will make the cabin feel spacious and airy.

The Hector Tomahawk is available in 6- and 7-seater variants.

2026 MG Hector Tomahawk: Features And Safety

The Hector Tomahawk, being an MG EV, will pamper you with techy features like a large 15.6-inch touchscreen infotainment system with wireless Android Auto and Apple CarPlay. It will also get wireless chargers and connected car technology, automatic climate control and a panoramic sunroof. The driver also gets an 8.8-inch digital display.

The Tomahawk also gets a powered tailgate, powered and ventilated front seats,

Safety kit includes a 360-degree camera, multiple airbags, ABS with EBD, and ISOFIX child-seat mounts.

2026 MG Hector Tomahawk: Drivetrain

The Hector Tomahawk is available only in one battery pack option, which is the 69.2 kWh battery pack. Drivetrain options are as follows:

Battery Pack

69.2 kWh

Power

204 PS

Torque

300 Nm

Claimed Range (MIDC)

2026 MG Hector Tomahawk: Price And Rivals

The Tomahawk eSUV is expected to be priced from Rs 19.49 lakh ex-showroom onwards. It will go up against the likes of the Mahindra XEV 9S and the upcoming Tata Safari EV.

ZigSays…

The arrival of more EVs into the market is a clear indication that Indians are adopting EVs in decent numbers and charging infrastructure is growing by the day.

The introduction of the EV and the PHEV will give buyers great flexibility in choice. For those who want to use their car mostly in the city, the EV will make more sense.

Meanwhile, the recent EVs from MG have generally been glitch-free, which can’t be said about the other brands offering EVs in the segment. If you’re happy with the looks, space and features, the Tomahawk EV could be a good proposition.
