The Skoda Kushaq, launched in India in 2021, is due for a much-needed update in the form of a facelift, which is set to arrive in India in early 2026. Test mules have been spotted regularly, and new spy shots have surfaced online, hinting that the Kushaq is likely to get a 360-degree camera as well as some new cosmetic bits.
In addition to the 360-degree camera, the Kushaq facelift is likely to come with features like an updated touchscreen, a panoramic sunroof, a revised driver’s display and an improved audio system. This will be done to differentiate the Kushaq from the Kylaq further, as both have nearly identical feature lists right now. The Kushaq needs to be positioned as a more premium product for Skoda to reap some benefits of the compact SUV space.

The Kushaq facelift is likely to be the first mass-market car from Skoda India to get an ADAS safety suite, improving the already impressive safety quotient of the compact SUV. It’s likely to continue with six airbags, electronic stability programme, hill hold control, tyre pressure monitoring system and more. The Kushaq was the first car in India to get a 5-star rating from Global NCAP, under its newer and stricter testing protocols.
Obviously, a facelift will bring a lift to the face (sorry for the pun). Expect the Kushaq to have a new grille, ideally using Skoda’s new Modern Solid design language, refreshed headlamps and taillamps, a redesigned tailgate and most importantly (and obviously) new alloy wheels. The spy shots show a new 5-spoke design which looks completely different from the current ones. While the alloy wheels are fully blacked out, the production version doesn’t need to have the same finish.

Skoda is unlikely to change the powertrain options on offer with the Kushaq when the facelift is launched. It will continue to have a 115 PS, 178 Nm, 1-litre turbo-petrol engine and a 150 PS, 250 Nm, 1.5-litre turbo-petrol engine. The former will have the option of either a 6-speed manual or a 6-speed torque converter automatic transmission. The 1.5-litre engine was originally offered with a 6-speed manual and a 7-speed dual-clutch automatic transmission, but the manual was later discontinued. It would be interesting to see if it makes its way back with the facelift.

The facelift will continue to fend off competition from the likes of the Volkswagen Taigun, Maruti Suzuki Victoris, Maruti Suzuki Grand Vitara, Kia Seltos, Hyundai Creta and MG Astor.
If you’re planning to buy the Skoda Kushaq, now’s actually a great time to go for it. The facelifted version is expected to arrive only by early 2026, so there’s still some time before that happens. Plus, with the Diwali festive offers currently in play, the Kushaq makes for a fantastic buy right now.
