Ahead of its unveiling tomorrow, Skoda has given us a sneak peek into what the Kushaq facelift is expected to be like. This facelifted version of the compact SUV is expected to bring forward comprehensive changes to the design, feature list, and interior. Here is all you need to know about it:
From the teasers and spy shots we have seen so far, we can see that the Kushaq will get a heavily reworked design. The front-end could get updated with a sportier bumper, new headlamps and a connected LED light bar. We can also see that it will get a larger lower air dam and grille as well, along with a more prominent faux silver skid plate.

While we have not had a peek at the side profile, spy shots show that it could remain similar to the current Kushaq with just minor revisions like a new design for the alloy wheels and more prominent roof rails.

At the rear, however, it will get a new look with a connected LED taillamp cluster as seen in the teaser. Interestingly, the ‘Skoda’ badging is also integrated with the light strip and now gets backlit. Besides this, it is likely to get a revised bumper and a larger roof spoiler.

Apart from these changes, we also expect the Kushaq facelift to get new colour options to complement the reworked design.
Move on inside, and the Kushaq facelift could see a new dashboard layout, along with the addition of a panoramic sunroof for a bright and airy feel. It could also get new upholstery options and a new colour theme as well.

The new Kushaq is also expected to see additions to its feature-list with new equipment like a panoramic sunroof, an updated infotainment system and a premium sound system, along with existing features such as a wireless charger, powered and ventilated front seats, a digital instrument cluster, wireless Android Auto/Apple CarPlay and ambient lighting.

In terms of safety, the facelift is expected to get a new Level 2 ADAS suite and 360-degree camera along with 6 airbags, electronic stability control, hill hold assist, traction control, tyre pressure monitoring system and front and rear parking sensors.
Under the hood, the Kushaq facelift is likely to remain identical with 1-litre and 1.5-litre turbo-petrol engines, with both getting manual and automatic transmission options. Here are the specifications of these in the current Kushaq:
|

1-litre turbo-petrol TSI |
1.5-litre turbo-petrol TSI |

6-speed manual/6-speed automatic |

Given all the new additions, the Kushaq facelift is likely to be priced at a slight premium over the outgoing car, and is expected to be priced between Rs 11 lakh and Rs 19 lakh (ex-showroom).

Competition for this SUV comes in the form of rivals like the Hyundai Creta, Tata Sierra and Curvv, Kia Seltos, Maruti Grand Vitara and Victoris, Toyota Urban Cruiser Hyryder and Volkswagen Taigun.
One of the best-selling models for Skoda, this new facelift could just be what the Kushaq needed to bring back some of the excitement after almost half a decade since launch. However, the segment has changed a lot in recent times and with a lot of new entrants, the fight is not going to be easy.
