Skoda Kylaq

Skoda has revealed the name of its upcoming sub-4 metre SUV, which has been christened as the ‘Kylaq’. It will be introduced on our shores in 2025, and will take on subcompact SUVs such as the Kia Sonet, Hyundai Venue, Mahindra XUV 3XO and Tata Nexon. The SUV had been spied undergoing testing previously, revealing a few styling cues that seemed to be inspired by its larger sibling - the Kushaq. It will likely be powered by Skoda’s 115 PS 1-litre turbo-petrol engine with both MT and AT options.

Skoda Kylaq Key Highlights

Features: Expected features include ventilated front seats, a sunroof, keyless entry with push button start/stop, a digital driver’s display, a 8-inch touchscreen infotainment screen with Android Auto and Apple CarPlay, and automatic climate control. On the safety front, it is expected to be equipped with ABS with EBD, electronic stability (ESP), hill-hold assist, tyre pressure monitoring system and 6-airbags.

Engine: It will likely be powered by a 1-litre turbo-petrol engine, mated to either a 6-speed manual transmission or a torque converter as seen with the Kushaq and Slavia.

Rivals: Upon its launch, the sub-4 metre Skoda SUV will rival the Hyundai Venue, Kia Sonet Tata Nexon, and Mahindra XUV 3XO.
