This will be the first design update for the current iteration of the Octavia, which was revealed back in 2019

Skoda has teased the new Octavia facelift for the first time ahead of its official debut in February. This will be the first midlife update for this iteration of the premium sedan, which broke cover officially back in 2019. The Octavia might have been off Indian shores for a while, but Skoda is expected to bring the popular nameplate in its sportier RS version down the road.

From the teaser, we could discern that the Octavia will get revised LED headlights with an updated DRL layout. Other expected upgrades may include a revised grille, new alloys, as well as tweaked LED tail lamps and bumpers. The Czech carmaker has been testing the updated sedan for a while and you can check it out in spy shots here

Inside, we suspect no major changes to be made to the overall dashboard layout or design. However, Skoda could tweak the colour scheme and upholstery to keep things fresh. It could also get a couple of feature additions to its already well-loaded package to make it an even better all-rounder. You can check out the existing Octavia’s features list by tapping this link

Don’t expect any major changes underneath the Octy’s hood, which gets a choice of turbo-petrol, diesel, mild- and plug-in hybrid powertrain options depending on the market. In India, the Octavia, before facing the axe, was offered with a 190 PS 2-litre turbo-petrol engine that drove the front wheels via a 7-speed dual-clutch automatic transmission.

As mentioned above, the Octavia is expected to make a comeback with its sportier RS model. It’s likely to pack a hybrid powertrain, likely to mark it as one of the carmaker’s first electrified models to be sold here. It could be brought as a fully imported model, so expect prices to be steep at around Rs 40 lakh (ex-showroom).
