Crash safety may be making headlines lately, but price relief is now the talk of the town in the Indian car market. With the GST overhaul coming into effect, Tata Motors has committed to passing on the full benefit to customers. Take a look at five Tata models that have seen the biggest price cuts, and what buyers stand to gain.
Price Reduction: Rs 1.55 Lakh
The sub-compact SUV leads the Tata pack in terms of GST benefit. With the highest cut, the Nexon becomes considerably more attractive in its segment. Prices now range between Rs 8.00 lakh and Rs 14.50 lakh (ex-showroom). The Nexon comes equipped with features such as 10.25 inch infotainment system that supports wireless Android Auto/ Apple CarPlay, a 10.25 inch digital driver’s display, 9-speaker JBL sound system, sunroof, ventilated front-row seats, and cruise control.

Price Reduction: Rs 1.45 Lakh
The three-row SUV from Tata also receives a strong reduction. The price cut helps narrow the premium gap and may drive buyers who were considering alternatives. With Safari, you now get a price deduction of up to Rs 1.45 lakh. Prices now range from Rs 15.50 lakh to Rs 25.96 lakh (ex-showroom). Top feature highlights include, a larger 12.3-inch infotainment system, 10.25-inch digital driver's display, gesture-enabled powered tailgate, and a 10-speaker JBL sound system.

Price Reduction: Rs 1.40 Lakh
Along with the Safari, the Harrier gets a comparable benefit as well. For buyers considering a mid-size SUV, this cut brings it closer in value to many rivals, especially when factoring in its features. The Harrier sees a price deduction of up to Rs 1.40 lakh, with prices now ranging between Rs 15 lakh and Rs 25.25 lakh. Like the Safari, it shares a similar feature list and the same 2-litre diesel engine option that puts out 170 PS/ 350 Nm, paired with either a 6-speed manual or a 6-speed automatic transmission.

Price Reduction: Rs 1.10 Lakh
Moving to the hatchback segment, the price reduction on the Tata Altroz is also significant. With a cut of up to Rs 1.1 lakh, the Altroz sharpens its value proposition, with prices now starting from Rs 6.89 lakh and going up to Rs 11.49 lakh (ex-showroom). Feature highlights include a 10.25-inch infotainment system with wireless Android Auto and Apple CarPlay, a 10.25-inch digital driver’s display, an 8-speaker sound system, a wireless phone charger, and a voice-assisted electric sunroof.

Price Reduction: Rs 85,000
Though it’s the smallest cut on this list, for a micro-SUV like the Punch it still makes a noticeable difference in affordability. The Punch now starts from Rs 6 lakh and goes up to Rs 10.32 lakh (ex-showroom). It is offered with a 1.2-litre naturally aspirated petrol engine that produces 88 PS and 115 Nm. You can also configure it with a factory-fitted CNG kit that puts out 73.5 PS in CNG mode.

With these reductions, Tata is clearly leveraging the revised tax structure to make its models more accessible and competitive. Let us know which of the above-mentioned model's price cuts attracted you the most.
