I had a good drive in the Altroz with Aditya. We explored some new roads which made for a very enjoyable drive. Between the CNG and Diesel, the diesel was obviously the more engaging to drive. I missed the diesel1torque after selling my Ecosport and using a Jimny as a daily. Tata has overall improved the Altroz a lot and1loaded it with features. There are a lot of features now that make it on par with competition. The CNG is also1a USP with the usable boot space, and the Altroz is the only diesel hatchback in the market. Tata ride is very1good as well as high-speed composure. The Altroz feels solid on the highways as well as twisty B roads. The1screen resolution and 360 camera are of excellent quality compared to others, and as is the case with other1Tata's, the audio system is excellent. But there is always a but with a Tata, they are still missing the last15%. Amongst multiple cars we saw at the media event, no 2 cars were completely alike. The bonnet and grill1panel gaps was different in a few cars vs the rest. The boot gap was different as well.

Good Safety and Comfort, Average Engine

I have been driving the Tata Altroz for a good amount of time, and the overall experience is mixed but practical. The biggest strength of this car is its strong build quality and safety. The car feels solid and stable, especially on highways, and gives good confidence at higher speeds. Steering control is decent and handling is predictable.Engine performance is average. For city driving it is fine, but the pickup is not quick. Overtaking requires proper planning, and aggressive drivers may feel the engine is under powered. Mileage is acceptable in the city and slightly better on highways, but it is not the best in the segment. Ride comfort is good. The suspension handles bad roads well and absorbs bumps effectively. Cabin insulation is decent, but engine noise becomes noticeable at higher RPMs. Interior quality is okay overall, though some plastic parts feel cheap. Tata can improve this. Service cost is reasonable, but service centre experience varies from city to city, which is still a weak point for Tata.
