Pros and Cons

  • Positives
  • Negatives

Maruti Baleno

  • Spacious and practical interior
  • lost of highlight features
  • refined and fun to use petrol engine
  • comfortable ride quality.

Tata Altroz

  • Good road presence. Supple ride and great balance between handling and comfort. Practical and spacious cabin. Now with a dual clutch automatic option and a more powerful turbo petrol.

Maruti Baleno

  • AMT is jerky to use at times
  • not as sophisticated as a CVT
  • the boot loading lip is high
  • not a sharp handling car.

Tata Altroz

  • Naturally aspirated petrol engine lacks refinement and is noisy. Gear shifts are clunky. Piano black accents on the outside easily pick up dust swirls. Dual Clutch auto not an option on the turbo petrol.

Q. Should I wait for new Hyundai i20 or Tata Altroz is a good choice?
  • Definitely the i20 is up-priced than the altroz so it will offer more features. The altroz is a value for money. The altroz is the best choice for indian conditions. I don't know why people hihglight about its 3 cylinders when the NVH is not that much which will really annoy you or decrease your driving pleasure and comfort. The altroz offers some best in class features. Every car has advantages and disadvantages, no car is perfect. At the end of the day its SAFETY which decides everything, and altroz is the safest hatchback in the Indian market.
  • Altroz will not stop production until the new i20 is released. So rather wait and test drive both. Everyone gives their own opinion, end of the day it's your money. Do what your heart says. All premium hatchback more or less have same performance. I have driven elite i20, altroz and baleno. Altroz has a better corner handling. I20 is a cool car. You have 1 litre turbo coming in i20. You have the money go for it.
  • No issue in waiting. but TATA is already proved their 5 STAR safety RATINGS whereas i 20 yet to prove. If safety is not your priority, then wait. If safety is top priority then Book Altroz imm as waiting period is almost 2 months... Go for safety for car as well as your FAMILY.... Cheers !!

Q. Should I buy Tiago XZA or Altroz XE rythm variant? I am confused between comfort and premium hatchback. Tiago XZA providing all the features but it is a hatchback and Altroz is a premium hatchback I can upgrade it after market. Please suggest which should I buy? Also tell me your choice between tiago xza or nios xma.
  • Tiago XZA seems a better choice- plus points- higher ground clearance, wider tyres (compared to Altroz XE Rythm), steering mounted infotainment controls, better mileage. etc.Minus points- lower safety rating, smaller dimensions(also a plus point), more vibration.
  • Go for Altroz if the price difference is not that much. You can add features to the aftermarket. Everything is available in the aftermarket.
  • Altroz will be better option. I own xza. I will suggest a step up. Basics are same. You can add features of your taste later.

Baleno 2022 User Reviews
  • Having owned the vehicle for last one month and after driving it for 1000 km, I can say I am delighted by this car. It always put a smile on my face. I am getting mileage of more than 20 on highways when I switch on eco mode with cruise control. Overall I have got mileage of 16 so far which is a very good mileage for a petrol car.I think its a really Gold Standard as its being advertised. Its not yet perfect though, the car is a bit lazy in first and second gears which is expected for a naturally aspirated engine. Some revving will be required to overcome the shortage of torque. If somebody is not aware this or want better low-end torque, better to go for the diesel variant or wait for the turbo variant.

  • After 1.5 month of research and analysis i found altroz among premium hatchback segment (i20, Baleno).I wanted a car with safety style comfort mileage road presence feature preferably. And tata altroz filled my requirement.Engine performance is also good it takes 2, 3 second more to getup to 100 than i20 and baleno because of its heavy weight of material. But which is not merely mensionable.I am totally satisfied. If you are already a hardcore tata hater then you will not find it as worth car.But if you believe in product then definitely you should buy.U will never regret after purchase.

  • Hello Guys. I am Sameer.Proud owner of TATA ALTROZ XT PETROL model. The car is fantastic, awasome, eye catchy. looks sexy, I drove the car occasionally. My ALTROZ gives me comfortable riding, and one think I want to tell you when you seat in the car you feel safe and relax. you do not have to modify the car.. XT MODEL is worth the 💰.Go for it... Don't buy Baleno, IGNIS, i20, Go for it... because you r buying ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ safety car.. LIFE IS IMPORTANT THAN MILEAGE..

  • Completed three months of ownership of the XZ(o) gold and black dual tone. It's been a joyful ride. Purchased the car for its NCAP safety rating. Ride comfort and handling are superb, cornering stability is excellent. I drive the petrol and the engine is adequately powered and I love the low growl of the engine. Boot space is adequate and interiors are premium. I call it my Goldstag. :)

  • Excellent car and everyone will be affordable with the launching price. You can drive car the confidently as per GNAP-5 rating and safer for indian roads. Very smooth steering responce and more spacious. Dnt get confuse and worry about other competitors commenting on Tata products and think about family safety.
