Going by the teaser video, it is likely to be the BS6-compliant Honda Grazia

  • Teaser video shows a sportier, more angular bodywork compared to the BS4-compliant Grazia.
  • Gets a fully digital instrument cluster with a range indicator.
  • Scooter will be equipped with a silent starter.
  • Engine is likely to be shared with the Activa 125.
  • Launch likely by the end of June 2020.
  • Honda has released a 20-second teaser video on its social media channels of what is likely the Honda Grazia BS6. The scooter looks a lot sportier than before and gets quite a few new features too. Expect Honda to launch the 125cc scooter by the end of June 2020. It is likely to cost around Rs 8,000 more than the BS4-compliant Grazia, which retailed at around Rs 62,000 (ex-showroom).

The teaser image reveals a much sharper bodywork with sleeker LED headlamp. The handlebar cowl features LED DRL like the BS6 Honda Dio. The scooter also comes with a fully digital instrument cluster which packs a 3-step Eco Speed Indicator and a tachometer as before. That said, a tachometer isn’t exactly beneficial on an automatic scooter. Like the Honda Activa 125, the digital inset in this scooter’s instrument console gets a range indicator too. Expect the scooter to have an external fuel filler like the Honda Activa 6G and the Activa 125.

The mention of ‘A Quiet Revolution’ in the video suggests it will get an ACG silent starter. Expect the engine to be carried over from the Activa 125. In the Activa, this 124cc fuel-injected motor churns out 8.29PS at 6500rpm and 10.3Nm at 5000rpm. If we’re lucky, we could see slightly different output figures for the Grazia BS6 to suit its sporty demeanour.

Underpinnings comprise a telescopic front fork and a single shock absorber at the rear, which is likely to be a 3-step preload-adjustable unit like the Activa 125. The scooter rolls on what appears to be a 12-inch front and a 10-inch rear alloy wheel and the front disc is likely to be an optional fitment. The rear uses a drum brake.

Since it looks quite different from the BS4 Grazia, Honda could possibly use a different name for this scooter. Nonetheless, it will be the spiritual successor to the Grazia and the perfect alternative to the TVS NTorq 125, Suzuki Burgman Street and Aprilia SR 125.
