All-new 890cc V-twin makes 120PS and 93.3Nm
Weighs just 175kg (V2 S), claimed to be the lightest Panigale ever
Priced at Rs 19.12 lakh for that standard variant and Rs 21.10 lakh for the S (ex-showroom India) and E20 fuel-compliant
Ducati’s red-hot superbike family has a new member, and this one’s built to make speed a little more accessible. The 2025 Panigale V2 has finally arrived in India, almost a year after debuting at EICMA 2024. It swaps the 955cc Superquadro engine for a brand-new 890cc V-twin (which we have seen on the Multistrada V2 (just-launched in India), 2026 Monster and the Streetfighter V2). Ducati claims the bike is sharper and is now usable on a daily basis without dulling that trademark Panigale edge.

At the heart of the 2025 Panigale V2 is Ducati’s new 890cc 90-degree V-twin, producing 120PS at 10,750rpm and 93.3Nm at 8,250rpm. Purists may scoff at the 35PS drop, but Ducati seems to have taken Colin Chapman’s quote very seriously. The Lotus founder famously said “Adding power makes you faster on the straights. Subtracting weight makes you faster everywhere.” Afterall, at the end of the day, shaving lap times off is the ultimate goal of the Panigale.
At 176kg kerb (but without fuel), the Panigale V2 S is 17kg lighter than before and is claimed to be the lightest Panigale ever, while the standard model tips the scales at 179kg kerb. The power-to-weight balance, combined with a reworked chassis and refined electronics, promises a bike that’s more approachable for everyday riders, yet just as rewarding on a racetrack. The new engine is also E20 fuel-compliant.

As with every modern Ducati, the electronics suite is as sophisticated as the design. Both variants come equipped with a 6-axis IMU, powering cornering ABS, traction control, wheelie control, engine brake control, and a bi-directional quickshifter.
The V2 S takes things further with launch control and a pit limiter as standard, while both bikes get four riding modes: Race, Sport, Road, and Wet, displayed on a 5-inch TFT console.

Underneath its beautifully sculpted fairings, the Panigale V2 remains every bit the sharp Ducati superbike. The standard model runs a fully adjustable Marzocchi fork and Kayaba monoshock, while the V2 S benefits from a premium Öhlins setup at both ends. Both versions get Brembo M50 monobloc callipers and Pirelli Diablo Rosso IV tyres, ensuring braking power and grip that match the bike’s sporting intent.

The 2025 Panigale V2 starts at Rs 19.12 lakh, while the Panigale V2 S is priced at Rs 21.10 lakh (both ex-showroom, India). That makes it nearly Rs 1.56 lakh cheaper than the outgoing 955cc version, a rare price drop in the world of premium superbikes, especially Ducati. But then again, it is still objectively expensive as you can get the much more powerful litre-class Kawasaki Ninja ZX-10R for Rs 30,000 cheaper than the V2 S variant. That said, the baby Panigale’s only closest rival in its segment is the Kawasaki Ninja ZX-6R, which is a lot more affordable at Rs 12,49,000 (ex-showroom Delhi).
