The Honda XL750 Transalp has consistently proven to be a capable motorcycle. Whether it's your weekend rides, daily commutes, long highway touring, or even going off-road, the Transalp never really gave much to complain about. While that was the case with the 2024 model, Honda has decided not to rest on its laurels and has improved several aspects of the bike in its 2025 iteration. After launching it in the global market in May, the bike has now reached our shores.
The 2024 XL750 Transalp always looked like a purpose-built machine. While it did look quite good, the bike’s design didn’t really match with its hooligan nature. Honda seems to have realised this, so the updated 2025 Honda XL750 Transalp gets a dual-LED setup which looks quite similar to that of its elder sibling, the Africa Twin, and looks a lot more aggressive now. The windscreen is new as well. The overall silhouette is the same, but the two colour schemes (Ross White and Graphite Black) have now been updated with revised decals. Overall, the 2025 Transalp looks a lot sleeker than before.
The engine remains the same - a 92PS, 75Nm 755cc liquid-cooled parallel-twin heart. The Transalp’s powertrain was known to be quite usable, be it in the city, through windy roads, or out on the open highways. It has a very linear acceleration, followed by a strong mid-range, and after 6000 rpm, the bike aggressively darts to the redline, which feels almost unlike any Honda motorcycle. Mind you, we’re saying this in an absolutely good way. For this year, Honda has gone one step ahead and further tweaked the motor so that it’s even more exciting to ride at the low to mid-level rev range.
That said, the suspension setup on the previous Transalp was no joke; the plush setup swallowed bad roads like it was nothing, and for the 2025 iteration, Honda has made it even more capable. Honda claims that it has improved the ride quality by changing the damping settings on the fork to be better at going off-road. As to how the changes affect the handling is something we will only get to know once we swing our leg over the new Transalp.
The Transalp has always been feature-packed. It had a TFT console, multiple riding modes, traction control, ABS, and wheelie control. That said, it was not really a motorcycle that was tech-savvy for the smartphone generation. However, the 2025 model changes this with an updated 5-inch TFT console that supports smartphone connectivity through Honda's RoadSync app. This enables turn-by-turn navigation, phone alerts, and music control. Honda has also upgraded the switchgear with a convenient four-way joystick to allow the rider to easily work through the new console.
Whenever a motorcycle is updated, it always comes at a price, quite literally. However, in this case, Honda has surprised us all! The 2025 Honda XL750 Transalp comes with a price tag of Rs 10,99,990 (ex-showroom, Delhi), which is exactly the same as the previous model. The 2025 Honda XL750 Transalp goes against the likes of Suzuki V-Strom 800DE (which was recently updated), BMW F 900 GS and the Triumph Tiger 900 in India.
