Next-gen Kia Seltos: Hybrid Incoming?

Although the next-gen Kia Seltos has not been launched in India yet, the SUV continues to be one of the most-awaited models for early 2026. Kia has announced that the global debut will happen on December 10, 2025, with prices expected in the first half of 2026.

But Kia is not tinkering with an already successful formula. The new-gen Seltos will retain a tried-and-tested engine lineup comprising a 1.5-litre NA petrol, 1.5-litre turbo-petrol, and a 1.5-litre diesel, paired with a mix of manual, CVT, torque-converter and DCT gearboxes. Much more promising, though, is Kia's new strong-hybrid system. It pairs a 1.6-litre petrol with an electric motor, though its India launch is still not confirmed.

ZigSays…

If you are in the market for a new SUV and time is on your side, each of these models offers a compelling reason to wait. The Tata Sierra brings legacy with a modern twist, the Mahindra XEV 9S signals the next wave of electric SUVs, the Maruti e Vitara brings a trusted brand's first big EV move, and the next-gen Kia Seltos promises a leap forward in the popular compact SUV category.
