Tata Motors has finally launched the all-new Sierra in India and announced the full variant-wise prices of the model. The Pure and Pure+ trims occupy positions above the base Smart+, and these are expected to constitute a large share of the SUV's demand, given their essential features and added comfort.
While both can be had with either the 1.5-litre naturally aspirated petrol or the 1.5-litre diesel, transmission options include a 6-speed manual as standard and an optional 7-speed DCA (petrol) or 6-speed automatic where the diesel engine is concerned.

Bi-LED Projector Headlamps
Electrically Adjustable ORVMs with Autofold
LED Turn Indicators
Flush Door Handles with Welcome Lights
Dual-tone roof
Hidden Rear Wiper with Washer
17-inch steel wheels
The Pure variant adds to the feature list of Smart+ a more comprehensive lighting and functional package. Bi-LED projector headlamps ensure better visibility, and there are electrically adjustable ORVMs with autofold and LED turn indicators integrated into the mirrors. The Sierra signature Light Saber LED DRLs, LED tail lamps, flush door handles with welcome lighting, and dual-tone roof continue from the lower spec. A rear window sunshade is included here. The wheels are 17-inch steel units.

Key Highlights
17-inch alloy wheels
Auto headlamps
Rain-sensing wipers
The Pure+ variant adds a clear visual and functional upgrade over the Pure. It adds 17-inch alloy wheels in place of steel wheels, besides auto headlamps, rain-sensing wipers, and a hidden rear wiper with a washer, which maintains the Sierra's clean rear glass profile. A rear defogger is also added here. The rest of the lighting and exterior kit, including Bi-LED projectors, Light Saber DRLs, flush door handles with welcome lamps, and the dual-tone roof, is shared with the Pure. Together, these additions give the Pure+ a more premium look and better all-weather usability.

Tata Sierra Pure
Key Highlights
Tilt & telescopic steering wheel with illuminated logo
10.25-inch Infotainment Touchscreen
Wireless Android Auto & Apple CarPlay
8-speaker audio system
Inside, the Sierra Pure focuses on functionality and ergonomic enhancements, including a front sliding armrest with storage, rear AC vents, and a second-row reading lamp. The cabin continues to offer ample space, with a 60:40 split-reclining rear seat, rear armrest with cup holders, and access to the Sierra's 622-litre boot, one of the largest in its segment. Other cabin elements include a cooled glovebox, umbrella holder, seatback pockets, and bottle holders. Other features include height-adjustable front seatbelts, tilt-and-telescopic steering with an illuminated logo, and soft-touch storage elements throughout.

Key Highlights
Voice-assisted panoramic sunroof
Dual-zone Fully Automatic Temperature Control
Most of the Pure cabin carries forward, but the Pure+ further elevates the experience with the voice-assisted panoramic sunroof, the highlight feature of Sierra's interior. The variant also adds dual-zone fully automatic climate control. The rear occupants get two 65W USB-C fast-charging ports for better device support on long drives. One-touch up/down with anti-pinch function is added to the driver's window. All other key comfort elements, rear AC vents, reclining rear seats, cooled glovebox, seatback pockets, and armrest with cup holders, remain identical to the Pure.

Key Highlights
Rear camera with park assist guides
Cruise Control and Drive Modes (City & Sport)
TPMS
Hill Descent Control
6 Airbags
All-wheel disc brakes
ISOFIX anchorage
Rear parking sensors
The Pure variant ups the tech with a 10.25-inch touchscreen infotainment system featuring wireless Android Auto and Apple CarPlay, paired with an 8-speaker setup (4 speakers + 4 tweeters). It adds a rear-view camera with park assist guides, cruise control, drive modes (City and Sport depending on the powertrain), steering-mounted controls, and TPMS.

Safety equipment is also robust with six airbags, all-wheel disc brakes, and an extensive ESP suite with 20 functions, including traction control, rollover mitigation, brake disc wiping, and hill ascent/descent control. It gets ISOFIX mounts, perimeter alarm, rear parking sensors, follow-me-home lamps, and an electronic parking brake with auto hold. The Pure supports 250+ voice commands in six languages, a shark-fin antenna with GPS, and an idle-stop/start system for the naturally aspirated petrol engine.

Key Highlights
One-touch up/down anti-pinch driver window
Two rear 65W USB-C fast-charging ports
The Pure+ retains the full feature set of the Pure and adds a few well-chosen convenience upgrades. The addition of rear fast-charging ports improves overall usability for families and long-distance travellers, while the panoramic sunroof pairs with a large glass area to create a more airy cabin. Rain-sensing wipers and auto headlamps reduce driver effort in changing conditions.

All safety equipment-six airbags, ESP with 20 functions, all-wheel disc brakes, ISOFIX, hill descent control, and the electronic parking brake with auto hold-remains the same as on the Pure. Ditto for the infotainment setup with the 10.25-inch touchscreen, 8-speaker audio, and wireless smartphone connectivity. Like the Pure, the Pure+ also misses out on the ADAS, 360-degree camera, HUD, and triple-screen layout available higher up the range.
If you want the Sierra experience without going all-in on the flagship features, the Pure and Pure+ variants make quite a strong case. You get the fundamentals right, sound equipment, strong safety, familiar powertrains, and all the visual appeal of the Sierra.
Of the two, which would you choose? Let us know in the comments.
