MG Motor India has finally taken wraps off the much-awaited India-spec Majestor just over a year after its showcase at the Bharat Mobility Expo 2025. Among many other things, the Majestor will sit at the top of the brand’s ICE range and debuts with a bold design, laundry list of gadgetry and a powerful personality. Intrigued? Here are all the details:
As we had seen with the MG Rakan in Kuwait a few days back, the Majestor makes a proper statement with its bold and unapologetic design. At the front, you get to see a massive grille with gloss black inserts, a chunky skid plate and a low-set vertical headlamp cluster. It also gets a unique DRL signature in the form of vertical strips inside the grille, as well as horizontal units at the top.
The side profile looks a lot like its sibling, the Gloster with a boxy and tall stance. Notably, the Majestor also gets thick plastic cladding and new 19-inch alloy wheels too. The door handles now come finished in black, while MG has also added a black trim on the fender for added measure.
Towards the rear, the basic profile remains the same as the Gloster, however the taillamps now feature reworked detailing and a connecting strip in between. The bumper has also been updated to now feature dual exhaust-tips and a chunky skid plate. You also get to see prominent ‘MAJESTOR’ badging so nobody mistakes it for anything else.
Inside, the ‘tough’ theme continues, but with a luxurious twist thrown in. You get to see a massive cabin finished in an all-black theme. Upfront, there is a new dashboard layout with a layered and boxy look, while a new touchscreen makes its way to the centre of the cabin. It also gets a conventional-looking 3-spoke steering wheel and a gloss-black finish for the centre console. Notably, MG has moved the gear shifter to a stalk on the steering column.
The Majestor will be available in 6-seater and 7-seater layouts for added flexibility.
The Majestor surely keeps up with the badge on its nose by offering a lot of features including three-zone climate control, panoramic sunroof, digital instrument cluster, a 12.3-inch touchscreen infotainment system with wireless Android Auto/Apple CarPlay, dual wireless chargers, 64-colour ambient lighting, 12-way powered, heated and massaging front seats, powered tailgate, drive modes, massaging second row seats and a 12-speaker JBL sound system.
Safety-wise it is equipped with 6 airbags, a Level 2 ADAS suite, electronic stability control, hill hold assist, 360-degree camera, front and rear parking sensors, traction control and a tyre pressure monitoring system.
Under the hood, the Majestor gets the same 2-litre twin-turbo diesel engine as the Gloster which comes mated to an 8-speed AT. It is also equipped with an optional four-wheel drive system for enhanced off-road capability. Here are the specifications of these powertrains:

Notably, MG has also equipped this SUV with a 810mm water wading depth, 10 off-road modes, along with three differential lockers for when the going gets tough.
MG has revealed that the Majestor will be available in three variants- Sharp 4x2, Sharp 4x4 and Savvy 4x4. Pre-bookings for the SUV are already open for a price of Rs 41,000, with deliveries set to commence from May.
MG has announced that it will launch the Majestor in April 2026, with deliveries starting later in May. While we await the prices, it is likely to be priced from Rs 50 lakh (ex-showroom). When on sale, it will go up against rivals like the Toyota Fortuner Legender, Skoda Kodiaq and the Volkswagen Tayron R-Line.
MG’s eyes are set on the throne that the Fortuner has held for years. And the carmaker has spared no effort with the Majestor in its quest to claim the top spot in the full size SUV segment. With pretty much everything you could ask for, the SUV is turning out to be quite the car for any buyer shopping in this price bracket. That said, all depends on the pricing and how it drives, which is something we will only get to know in due course.
