The Majestor features a bold design, a premium cabin, a long list of features, and a capable powertrain option, all set to take on some of the stalwarts of the segment. Without further ado, here’s everything you need to know about MG’s newest entrant:
MG has launched the Majestor Savvy from Rs 40.99 lakh to Rs 44.99 lakh. The base-spec Sharp variant's prices are yet to be announced. Here’s a look at its variant-wise pricing:

The Majestor stands out with great road presence thanks to its bold and imposing stance and rugged styling elements. Up front, it comes with a massive gloss-black grille, complemented by a vertically stacked headlamp setup. You get distinctive LED DRLs close to the bonnet edges, and chrome elements on the grille to add bling to the fascia. It comes with a chunky skid plate and thick cladding, which further enhances its bold and rugged appeal.

Similar to the Gloster, you get a bold and upright silhouette. However, the Majestor looks more muscular of the two. It rides on new 19-inch alloy wheels and features blacked-out elements like door handles, ORVMs and roof rails, giving it a sportier look.

Coming to the rear, you get connected LED tail lamps with new detailing, a redesigned bumper with dual exhaust tips, and prominent ‘MAJESTOR’ badging to make sure people in cars behind remember the name.

The Majestor comes in as many as four hues: Pearl White, Concrete Grey, Black Metal and Black Ash.
Inside, the Majestor blends toughness with luxury. The interior of the Majestor gets a new all-black theme with hints of grey, and soft-touch materials that enhance the cabin and make it feel upmarket. A large central touchscreen dominates the layout, while the centre console features gloss-black finishes.

MG has also changed the position of the gear selector to a stalk on the steering column. This frees up more space in the lower centre console. You get rectangular AC vents, which look nice and quirky, and toggle-style control for operating the AC. To operate the four-wheel drive settings and drive modes, you get two circular knobs.

Moreover, just like the Gloser, it gets a three-spoke leather-wrapped steering wheel.

The SUV is available in both 6-seater (captain seats) and 7-seater configurations, offering flexibility for different buyers. The second row of seats can be configured with either individual captain seats or as a bench. Even the third row is quite spacious, but you would prefer children or shorter adults using it.

The good thing is that every row gets AC vents, while the second row also features 220V charging sockets, an air purification system with a dedicated screen, and dials for a dedicated temperature zone as well.
The Majestor is loaded with a plethora of convenience and comfort features, including a 12.3-inch touchscreen infotainment system with wireless Android Auto and Apple CarPlay, a digital instrument cluster, dual wireless chargers, panoramic sunroof, three-zone climate control, a powered tailgate, and a 12-speaker JBL sound system.

It also offers 12-way powered, heated, and massaging front seats, along with massaging seats for the second row, and 64-colour ambient lighting to elevate the cabin experience.

In terms of safety, you get 6 airbags, traction control, a 360-degree camera, electronic stability control, hill hold assist, front and rear parking sensors, a tyre pressure monitoring system, and a Level 2 ADAS suite.

Under the hood, the Majestor gets the same 2-litre twin-turbo diesel engine seen in the Gloster, mated to an 8-speed automatic transmission. It also offers an optional four-wheel-drive system for enhanced capability. Here’s a closer look at the specifications:

Additionally, MG has equipped the SUV with serious off-road hardware, including 10 terrain modes, triple differential locks, and an impressive 810mm water wading capacity.

The Majestor is here to take on the likes of full-size SUVs like the Toyota Fortuner Legender, Skoda Kodiaq, Jeep Meridian, and the Volkswagen Tayron R-Line.
Out of these SUVs, the Fortuner is the SUV that is the Majestor’s closest rival, mainly due to its sheer dominance in the past decade or so.
With the Majestor, MG is clearly aiming for the top spot in the full-size SUV segment. It brings a bold design, loads of features, serious off-road credentials, and a premium cabin experience. With a strong diesel engine, MG has ensured that buyers who seek a diesel SUV in this price category remain satisfied. However, its success will ultimately depend on whether buyers are willing to move on to a newer name and pick the MG SUV over some of the popular names.
On paper, the Majestor looks very compelling and is ready to take on the Indian SUV market. Will it be able to you? Time will tell. Till then, let us know your thoughts on MG’s newest SUV.
