MG Motor India has finally revealed the new Majestor SUV, in what it calls the D+ segment. The MG Majestor is positioned above the Gloster in the automaker’s portfolio, and packs different styling elements and more features, while retaining the same underpinnings. Is the new SUV really all that different? Here are five features that the new MG Majestor gets over the Gloster.
The MG Gloster gets a simpler 8-inch digital driver’s display, while the touchscreen infotainment system remains a 12.3-inch unit but runs an old UI and dated graphics. The MG Majestor, on the other hand, gets a more advanced cabin with two 12.3-inch digital screens for the digital instrument cluster and infotainment system.
The graphics are far more crisp and a step above the ones on the Gloster, enhancing the cabin’s premium feel by a great extent.
To free up more space in the centre console,MG has moved the gear shifter to a stalk on the steering column compared to the Gloster which has a more traditional placement on the centre console. Due to this, the Majestor now incorporates two wireless charging pads, cupholders, and the dials for changing from rear-wheel drive to four-wheel drive and terrain modes here, along with a large sliding armrest for the front occupants.

The new Majestor is more upmarket inside the cabin with the electrically adjustable front seats. The driver’s seat gets 12-way power-adjust, while the passenger’s seat is 8-way adjustable. Notably, it also comes with ventilation and massage functions for both the front seats compared to the Gloster, which has these functions for the driver only.

The Majestor gets three differential locks, which is not only better than the Gloster, but is also a segment-first feature. There are three different locks - front, centre, and rear, which ensures maximum traction on uneven surfaces, rocks, mud, snow, and sand. There are also 10 off-road modes on the Majestor to handle a variety of terrain. MG has also added the M-Crawl Mode, which automatically manages the acceleration and braking, so the driver can focus on steering the car on challenging terrains.
The MG Majestor gets an updated centre console that now incorporates a dual wireless charging pad, a very useful upgrade over the Gloster which doesn’t have this facility. . With this feature getting more and more common, even in budget cars, it could be considered an essential for this segment, especially since the Majestor is likely to be used on road-trips by many buyers.

The new MG Majestor not only packs more features but appears to bring more capability to the SUV, not just over the Gloster but its rivals too. The Majestor also gets a revamped interior with new soft-touch materials, leatherette upholstery with contrast stitching, and an overall improved cabin experience. For buyers looking to get a more comfortable yet off-road friendly SUV, the Majestor will be a likeable offering to watch out for.
