Ducati has launched the 2025 Streetfighter V2 and the Streetfighter V2 S in India. The bike has received some significant changes, including a new engine and lighter underpinnings. Ducati has been shifting its focus from raw performance to improved precision and usability on its entire V2 lineup. This shift was made clear by the recent launch of the Panigale V2 and the Multistrada V2.

At this starting price, the Ducati Streetfighter V2 is around Rs 2.50 lakh more affordable than the previous generation model.

New Engine

Addressing the elephant in the room, the bike now gets a smaller 890cc, liquid-cooled 90-degree V-twin engine which produces 120PS at 10,750rpm and 93.3Nm at 8,250rpm. Compared to the previous generation model’s 955cc motor, this is a massive drop of 35PS.

This might seem like bad news on paper, but Ducati has tuned this engine differently, with over 70 percent of its torque available by 3,000rpm. Additionally, the brand has also made up for this drop in power by improving other aspects of the bike.

Lighter Than Ever

For better handling, the bike is now built on a lighter monocoque frame, and now the bike has a dry weight of 178kg (V2 S weighs 175kg).

Along with this, the bike now comes with a dual-sided swingarm, inspired from the 2025 Ducati Panigale V4, for better straight-line stability. The suspension setup on the Streetfighter V2 & V2 S are different. The Streetfighter V2 gets a fully-adjustable Marzocchi fork and Kayaba monoshock. The Streetfighter V2 S gets fully adjustable Öhlins NIX-30 fork and Öhlins rear shock absorber.

Aside from this, both share a few components in common. Both roll on new lighter 17-inch cast alloy wheels, with Pirelli Diablo Rosso IV tyres.

Electronics

The bike gets a 5-inch TFT console which has 3 display modes: Road, Road Pro, Track. The console offers essential readouts at a glance. Connected features such as turn-by-turn navigation, a lap timer and tyre pressure monitoring system offered as optional accessories.

Electronic riding aids include traction control, cornering ABS, wheelie control, a bidirectional quickshifter and engine braking control.

ZigSays

Ducati has decided to take a different approach with the V2 lineup, trading horsepower for better precision with a new engine and redesigned chassis. This should make the bike a lot more approachable for riders who are just upgrading to a high performance middle-weight.

The new engine, which produces most of its torque at the lower rev range should make for a more exciting riding experience, especially in the city. The lower price point should also make the bike a much better proposition.

Overall, although there’s a drop in performance everything else on the bike has improved and it is still a good option for those who are looking to upgrade from an entry-level streetfighter like the Triumph Trident 660 or the Kawasaki Z650.
