2025 Benelli TRK 502, 502X launched
Gets new features and colours
Tubeless spoked wheels on the 502X
The 2025 Benelli TRK 502 and TRK 502X have been launched in India, with a whole bunch of updates. With that, the prices of two models have gone up by about Rs 40,000. Here’s what you need to know about the new adventure bikes:
The TRK 502 is a road-biased ADV bike from Benelli. That’s quite evident from its 17-inch alloy wheels and the underbelly exhaust.
The updates on the bike include a lighter aluminum swingarm, heated grips & a heated seat, TPMS (tyre pressure monitoring system), and most importantly, a new 5-inch TFT console with turn-by-turn navigation. The colour options have been reduced to only black, and white. The bike is now priced at Rs 6,20,000 (ex-showroom), which is Rs 40,000 more than before.
The Benelli TRK 502X is a rough-road biased ADV bike, which has the same set of updates as the 502. The only difference is that this now gets tubeless spoked wheels – same 19-inch front and 17-inch rear combo as before.
The bike has a side-mounted exhaust, 210mm ground clearance (20mm more than 502), and a rather tall 860mm seat height. There are three colour variants on the bike. The white and green both cost Rs 6,70,000 (Rs 35,000 more than before), whereas the LE colour variant, which has a yellow paint scheme (no other changes), is priced Rs 6,85,000 (Rs 40,000 more). All prices ex-showroom, India.
The engine remains the same on both the variants – a 500cc liquid-cooled twin-cylinder that makes 47.59PS at 8,500rpm and 46Nm at 6,000rpm. It’s paired to a rather simple 6-speed gearbox; no fancy slipper clutch or a quickshifter.
The Benelli TRK 502’s achilles’ heel was its weight. While the engine is decently powerful on its own, the 210kg+ dry weight of the bike bogs it down. On the flipside, the bike now gets segment-first (in India) heated seats and heated grips; should be quite useful for those who often answer the mountains’ call.
While the 502X remains naturally unrivalled as such, the 502 goes up squarely against the Honda NX500. The latter makes a bit less power, but is quite lighter at 196kg kerb. It also has a Showa fork to boast of. And where it really matters - the Honda is more affordable at Rs 5,90,000 (ex-showroom).
All said, the 450-500cc adventure bike segment is booming in India. You not only have the aforementioned bikes but also upcoming ADV bikes like the CFMoto 450MT. For the price, you can also get the Moto Morini X-Cape 650, which is the most affordable 650cc adv bike in India – in fact, it considerably undercuts even the NX500! If you want something from a more well-established brand, then you simply cannot go wrong with the Honda NX500.
