After more than a year of teasers, Kawasaki has finally revealed the details of its upcoming electric bikes – the Ninja e-1 & Z e-1 – based on its ICE Ninja and Z series.
So when it comes to design, both electric motorcycles take design inspiration from their ICE counterparts. But you can read our previous story for more information on that.

Interestingly, these new bikes are not set to be high-performance EVs and will be equivalent to 125cc petrol-powered motorcycles. With a 5kW motor paired to a removable battery pack, both electric bikes claim a top speed of 99kmph. The EVs will get two ride modes – Ride and Eco – along with an e-boost mode for short bursts of additional performance.

Both e-bikes also feature a reverse mode, walk mode, LED lighting, a TFT console, and smartphone connectivity. While the battery capacity and claimed range haven’t been revealed, we do know that the bikes get a twin removable battery setup.
The most important takeaway is that the Ninja e-1 and Z e-1 will be launched in the UK in October 2023. However, the intention to launch these bikes in India is not yet very clear yet, and we can only hope for Team Green to electrify our streets as well. Till then we have electric options like the Ather 450X, Tork Kratos, Revolt RV400, and Ultraviolette F77.
