  • Q. I am 6ft 1inch tall and planning a compact sedan. I am slightly inclined towards Amaze and Aura. I'll be driving and rarely shifting to the rear seats. Which of the two would be a better suited for me? Prefered Fuel type - Petrol, Not looking for a daily commuter but more of a weekend/outstation ride so can do with Manual aswell, but no compromise on comfortable smooth ride and mileage.

I have recently bought Amaze cvt petrol BS6 model for my Dad, we have been using Maruti and Tata brand for the past 30 Yrs, this is first time we have changed brand, Honda Amaze is best car, this has got best Honda Engine in the world, I-Vtec is Honda flag ship engine, this engine is so refined and this can run for 11 lakh kilometers, if maintained and properly serviced, i have seen couple of youtube videos on this engine, and in realtime, in dubai one taxi driver was using Honda city petrol 2002 model which has got same engine i-vtec, meter reading was 4.8 lakh kilometers he was telling he never opened this engine, just changing engine oil, sprak plugs on time, major breakdown for him was Automatic transmission change. And every 90k kilometers timing belt change is required. Ok coming to my experience on amaze, this has got robust and refined engine, Average fuel shown in meter is 9.5 Kmpl, but in real time i am getting 13 km, just clocked only 1000km, need to wait till second service. But i have done a big mistake, instead of going for Petrol i would have gone for diesel cvt, it is so much refined then petrol. Interior quality is good, safety wise 5 star rating. Pick up is good and torquy engine, rear seat comfort is good.

    Zigwheels

Hyundai Aura features an 65 liter fuel tank and the claimed mileage of Aura CNG is 28km/kg. The range with a full tank would depend on the current mileage and the driving conditions.

    • Proud owner

I am the proud owner of Hyundai aura diesel amt, Since Jan 2021, And has covered 11, 000kms which is a combination of city and highway travel. I am pretty impressed by its performance, I am from Bangalore, And recently visited Shirdi and traveled all over Maharashtra, The car sometimes was giving as much as 27km part of diesel, On an average, it gives around 712 km per tank, With a tank capacity of 37ltrs, Probably this mileage around 35 ltrs spent, This traveling in Pune Bangalore highway around 115- 120 km per hr most of the time, The car hugs the road and is stable at high speeds, But most of it is at daytime, For the night I think Hyundai needs to add a pair of additional lights in the headlight console to improve night driving better.I was surprised with the volume of auras in Pune, But in Bengaluru, you don't get to see so many around. I would have been happier if it had received more points in global en cap ratings, But still feel the car is built well and performance is really great if you drive at safe speeds, Highly recommended it.

    • I have purchased Hyundai Aura

I have purchased Hyundai Aura 1 year back. It is a nice city car and has a lot of nice features. From the price point this was very affordable. Leg room for the rear seat is great which was important. My family has tall folks around 6ft. The boot space is quite great and mileage is awesome. I went from Indore to Hyderabad in one shot and got an average of 21. If you drive between 80-90 then you will definitely get a better average. I was driving at more than 100 at some places and hence the average was reduced. Now coming to the issues.NCAP is not present but i also feel that car could have been safer, under powered. While driving in Hyderabad over the hilly terrain that Hyderabad has, lack of power was quite evident. Driving 950kms in a day did take a toll on me. After 700-750 kms, my back was stiffing up, suspension could have been a tad bit better. Apart from that it is a good family car. Hyundai has cut few corners here and there but did not make it undesirable. Also i have Aura S.

      Comfortable Vehicle

Hyundai Aura is one of the best cars in its segment with a refined CNG engine. Despite the low sales figures, it is one of the best picks for buyers who need good performance/mileage and style. Engine: The engine is refined and delivers a noise-free performance. However, on a steep hill, you will witness a lack of power running on CNG mode. Boot space: In its segment Aura has the largest boot space. It can easily fit one full-size and one medium-sized bag with two backpacks with a huge CNG cylinder. Mileage: I have clocked 3k KM till now. My mileage experience is amazing as I drive this beautiful car carefully. I have clocked 41.67km/kg (without AC) on a 330 km trip on the highway with a speed maintained between 75 km/hr to 85km/hr. I always drive below 2500 rpm. In a city with AC running, I have got 23.0 km/kg in heavy traffic. On Highway with running AC and speed around 90-95, I am getting 33km/kg mileage. Comfort: suspensions are good but make noise on bumps. The cabin is spacious and comfortable.

    • Good vehicle

Have drive the cng variant for 7k km.Good vehicle for city and highways.Pickup is bad in cng so need a little practice with cng variant.Avoid taking it to steep incline places as cng engine won’t let you climb so easily.Cng mileage depends upon traffic conditions and cng quality. In bengaluru traffic, Cng give me at least 16 kmpl and in highways upto 30 kmpl.Mostly i refuel my cng tank after it cross 150 km.Bootspace after cng is equivalent to i10 hatchback.Car back profile look great but front bonnet is very small like a hatchback.Since cng prices have soared, I won’t recommend anyone to buy it.Better to go with conventional petrol/diesel until electric vehicles and ecosystem mature enough.
