The new TVS Jupiter MillionR is the latest entrant in the ZigWheels garage

Scooters aren’t the most fun way to commute on two-wheels (except if you’re talking about the Aprilia SR 150) but there is no denying their practicality and usability. The TVS Jupiter, in my opinion, is the best 110cc scooter on sale in the Indian market. So, when the Jupiter MillionR entered the ZigWheels garage, I was swift to take its keys. As the name suggests, the new flagship Jupiter was launched to commemorate the sale of over a million units of the scooter in India.

It gets draped in a special shade of wine red, and features beige interior panels and dual-tone seats which makes it look attractive. The chrome accents, though, are something that I am not too fond of. The biggest talking about the MillionR edition is the front disc brake. Understandably, the 220mm-dia disc brake has improved the braking performance of the scooter dramatically. The disc brake offers good bite and I feel that TVS should offer them as an optional extra on the other variants also. Among the main reasons for the popularity of the Jupiter is its exhaustive list of features. The MillionR gets equipped with an USB port under the seat for mobile charging as standard fitment.

The external fuel filler cap is also a very helpful feature as one doesn’t have to disembark from the scooter, and it is among my favourite features. Also the reserve fuel indicator and pass light switch feature deserve a mention. The engine is the same 110cc unit as seen on the standard scooter, delivering 8PS and 8Nm of torque. Acceleration isn’t the forte of the scooter as the CVT feels a bit sluggish. Though, I must mention that the mid-range has strong pull and one can cruise at speeds between 60-70kmph easily. Refinement level of the motor is decent but some vibes can be felt through the footboard. Talking about mileage, the TVS Jupiter MillionR returned us 50kmpl overall which is good for a scooter.
