The all-new Bajaj Pulsar 125 was recently launched in India at a starting price of Rs 92,990 (ex-showroom, Delhi). It gets an all-new engine, underpinnings, and a host of new features. After spending some time riding the bike ourselves, here are the top five likes and dislikes:

3 Things We Liked

Smooth & refined engine

Pulsar 125

The Pulsar 125 gets an all-new 124.58cc air-cooled engine that makes 12.1 PS and 11.4 Nm. The engine feels smooth and refined, with vibrations staying in control till 8,000rpm. The engine is also quite tractable, meaning you don't have to make frequent gear changes in the city. Out on the highway, the engine can cruise at 80-85 kmph without feeling stressed.

Lightweight & easy to handle

Pulsar 125

At 131 kg, the Pulsar 125 is 13 kg lighter than the older bike. This makes it easy to move around in traffic and while making slow U-turns. The bike also feels quite flickable in the city and doesn't feel cumbersome. This lightweight nature makes the Pulsar 125 an easy bike to live with, especially for daily commutes.

Sporty design with useful features

The Pulsar 125 retains the sporty looks of the OG Pulsar but gets sharper styling, new graphics and sharper tank extensions. It also gets the familiar wolf-eyed LED DRLs, giving it an aggressive look.

In terms of features, the bike gets a 5-inch TFT console on the top variant with Bluetooth connectivity, turn-by-turn navigation, document storage, three ride modes, and a Type-C charging port. This makes the new bike quite feature-rich compared to its competitors in the segment.

2 Things We Didn't Like

Stiff rear suspension

Pulsar 125

The biggest issue with the Pulsar 125 is its rear suspension setup. It feels quite stiff, especially when riding over sharp bumps and potholes. This can make the ride uncomfortable on rougher roads, particularly when riding solo.

No single-channel ABS 

Pulsar 125

The Pulsar 125 is only available with CBS, and there is no single-channel ABS variant on offer. While the braking performance is quite strong and there is ample stopping power, the addition of single-channel ABS would've made it even safer.

ZigSays

The Pulsar 125 is a good option for buyers looking for a sporty and feature-rich 125cc motorcycle. However, it could have been a more complete package with better ride quality and single-channel ABS, which its rivals like the Hero Xtreme 125R, TVS Raider, and Honda CB125 Hornet get.
