The only list you’ll need to kit up your Classic 350 for your next trip to the mountains

The Royal Enfield Classic 350 has been the go-to choice for a lot of riders who heed the “call of the mountains”. Though the retro roadster takes everything you throw in its stride, these accessories can be a worthy investment next time you decide to get Leh’d:

Performance:

Carberry Vibration Reduction Plate
Price: Rs 3,000

Some call it character, for some it is the lack of it, but either way, the UCE motor is notorious for vibrations. Though it may not be bothersome on short rides or a lazy commute, it WILL get on your nerves on long hauls. Australia-based Carberry designed the vibration reduction plate for the Classic 350 and the 500. Though it may not completely cut off the vibes, it can reduce fatigue during long hours on the saddle.

Royal Enfield Exhaust
Price: Rs 3300 to Rs 3,450

This listicle would be incomplete without an aftermarket exhaust, wouldn’t it? Though there are plenty of options in the market with deafening decibel levels, we’d recommend opting for one from RE’s catalog. Not only are there plenty of options to choose from, you also get to fit it from an authorised service center.

Luggage:

Royal Enfield Luggage Mounting Brace + Bags
Price: Rs 1600 + Rs 5,500

Royal Enfield gives you an option to either opt for a right hand side luggage mount and bag or have it on both sides. RE has a different mounting set for models with a drum brake at the rear, so choose accordingly. The downside, however, is that the bags are just water resistant, not waterproof, so these might not be the best option in the unpredictable weather in the mountains.

Rynox Saddlebags
Price: Rs 5350

Rynox has been known to build some durable saddlebags and this one is no different. The bags are waterproof, and with a combined capacity of 64 litres, there's ample room to store all the essentials. Another advantage is that you need not bother with the mounting kit either. The bags can be strapped directly to the bike.

Ergonomics:

Royal Enfield Touring Seat
Price: Rs 2,450

The Classic 350’s seat is comfortable, but if you are pulling off long hours, you’d want a seat that distributes your weight better. RE’s touring seat with its 3D net construction does just that.

Art Of Motorcycles Touring Handlebar
Price: Rs 1,900

The stock handlebar is a bit narrow and flat and a wide, tall ‘bar goes a long way in reducing fatigue. Art of Motorcycles’ handlebar also come with a brace, which might come handy in an event of a crash, and can also be useful to mount your GPS/phone on.

Illumination:

Maddog Scout Lights
Price: Rs 3,750

The stock halogen bulb won’t be of much use in the rain or heavy fog and that’s where these compact LED auxiliary lights come into play. These have a decent brightness of 3000 lumens and you can even purchase filters/covers for Rs 599 for different riding conditions or when not using them.

Protection:

Royal Enfield Engine Guard
Price: Rs 2,100

A sturdy engine could be the only thing saving your leg from getting crushed under a 195kg motorcycle laden with luggage. The market is filled with options, but when Royal Enfield makes them in different styles, why look elsewhere?

Sump Guard
Price: Rs 2,650

With a ground clearance of 135mm, you are bound to bash the Classic 350 against a rock or even a colossal speed bump eventually. Though the chances of damaging your engine case are slim, no one wants to be left stranded mid-ride with a broken engine case, right? The RE sump guard is constructed using aluminum, so it is lightweight, but at the same time, strong enough to take some beating.
