After bringing the Diavel, Ducati aims to bring two new bikes under the Streetfighter tag. A new Streetfighter 1198 and Streetfighter 848 may make its debut to the public in September

As a replacement to the currently running Streetfighter 1098, Ducati may launch an all new Streetfighter 1198. The new bike will see an increase of displacement by 100cc. The new Ducati will not host the same old motor from the Superbike 1198 assembly unit, in fact the company plans to use the Testastretta 11° motor which is also seen in the Multistrada 1200 and the Diavel.

By launching the new Ducati Streetfighter 1198, the two-wheeler manufacturer will open a huge enough gap in its production line for a smaller displacement Streetfighter. Enter – Ducati Streetfighter 848. Though the higher displacement Streetfighter may churn out more grunt and power for the rider, its younger sibling will host a toned-down 848 EVO power plant.

The Bologna based company will continue to focus on the huge sales success of its current hit models like the superbikes 848 and 848EVO but simultaneously the company also wants to add the Streetfighter range in order to open up a new market.

The disappointing but unsurprising part is that it is very unlikely that the bikes may receive a makeover, so they are not completely new motorcycles except for the fact that the power plant will be fresh, much like the jump from Superbike 1098 to Superbike 1198.

More good news! The Streetfighters are not just the only new bikes which will come out from the Ducati plant, a Ducati Superbike 1199 may also be in the loop for 2012.
