It’s likely to be the first bike based on the new engine platform

  • The bike has been spotted for the second time.
  • Will replace the Pulsar 220F in Bajaj’s lineup.
  • The new 250cc platform will spawn several other Pulsar models
  • Launch expected in the coming months.
  • We reported the first sighting of the upcoming Bajaj Pulsar 250F in May this year. It’s based on Bajaj’s all-new quarter-litre platform which is likely to swap a couple of other models. The faired bike, on the other hand, will replace the Pulsar 220F, and looks like it's in the closing stages of development. The most recent spy shot gives us a better look at the upcoming Pulsar 250F. It’s likely to be the first bike based on the new engine platform.

The 220F’s spiritual successor uses the same character lines as the current-gen model but looks more contemporary. So you have the same half-fairing, clip-on handlebars, a split seat setup, and LED lights instead of projectors. The riding posture is sporty yet upright, and a new 250cc heart that’s likely to be just as thrilling as the old one.

The new 250cc single-cylinder mill is expected to make more power than the 220F, however, it may not match up to the NS200's performance figures since it leans more towards a commuting-oriented product. The hardware is pretty straightforward, nothing fancy. So you have a conventional telescopic fork, a monoshock (a first for the standard Pulsar range) and discs at both ends paired with dual-channel ABS. More deets here.

We reckon the bike could be launched in August or September this year for a small premium over the 220F. A price of Rs Rs 1.32 lakh - Rs 1.34 lakh (ex-showroom) seems fair in our opinion.
