What’s new with the quarter-litre Ninja?

  • Gets a new livery as part of the 2021 update.
  • Available only in the Japanese market.
  • No mechanical changes made on the bike.
  • Kawasaki has launched the 2021 Ninja 250 in the KRT edition and Metallic Carbon Gray paint. For now, the quarter-litre Ninja is only available in Japan. So, what’s new about the 2021 Kawasaki Ninja 250? Well, nothing apart from the paint schemes. The motor is a liquid-cooled, 248cc parallel-twin unit, mated to a six-speed gearbox. It gets a slip and assist clutch too. The Ninja 250‘s engine produces 37PS at 12,500rpm and 23Nm at 10,000rpm.

Talking about features, the bike gets an LED headlight unit, a semi-digital instrument cluster with a gear position indicator, and fairing-housed turn indicators at the front. Braking is via a 310 semi-floating petal disc at the front and a 220mm petal disc at the rear. Dual-channel ABS comes as standard.

The 2021 Ninja 250 KRT is priced at 6,54,500 yen (Rs 4,61,451) and the Metallic Carbon Gray at 6,43,500 yen (Rs 4,53,696).

As we mentioned before, the Ninja 250 is exclusive to the Japanese market. The most affordable Kawasaki offering in India was the Ninja 300 that received a massive price drop with localisation of components. However, the BS6 Ninja 300 hasn’t been launched yet, but we think it might make its way in 2021. Kawasaki will also be launching the W175 in India next year. The bike has also been spotted undergoing testing on the outskirts of Pune.
