BMW debuted the 2015 R1200R roadster at INTERMOT today but with its liquid-cooled engine. The new R1200R now makes use of the same engine that powers the R1200GS and the R1200RT. Although the power rating continues to be the same at 126PS, it will now be delivered a lot more linearly than its predecessor. That said, the 2015 model will retain the basic R1200R roadster look and feel.
The 2015 model also gets that anti-locking brakes (ABS), automatic stability control (ASC), and two riding modes as standard, while the Pro with Dynamic Traction Control (DTC) riding mode is an optional extra. Electronic suspension adjustment (ESA) will also be available in the new 2015 R1200R.
Along with the R1200R, BMW also took the wraps off its sports tourer R1200RS. This one too will sport the same tried and tested liquid cooled 126PS engine but will make a little more torque than its roadster sibling. Torque on the R1200RS will come a little earlier than the other models that use the same poweplant mainly thanks to the modified airbox and air intake snorkels.
Similar to the roadster model, the R1200RS too gets ABS, ASC as standard equipment aside from two riding modes. Needless to say that the Pro riding mode with the dynamic traction control will be an added extra. ESA too will be a paid-extra.
