It’s a bit expensive than what we’d expect from KTM, but now the baby Duke feels much more wholesome

BREAKING: KTM 160 Duke Launched With TFT Console

Quick Read:

  • KTM updates the 160 Duke with a new 5-inch colour TFT display

  • The TFT-equipped variant costs Rs 7,991 more than the standard model

  • It is the same TFT console available on all other bigger KTMs

  • Apart from the console, the bike remains unchanged

KTM has launched a new variant of the 160 Duke in India, featuring a 5-inch colour TFT display, which brings the motorcycle closer to its main rival in terms of features. The KTM 160 Duke with the TFT console is priced at Rs 1,78,536 (ex-showroom, Delhi), while the base variant with the LCD console continues at Rs 1,70,545 (ex-showroom, Delhi). This update seems to be aimed squarely at closing the feature-gap with competitors like the Yamaha MT-15 V2, which has offered a TFT console for some time now.

TFT Console And Connectivity Features

The new TFT display offers Bluetooth connectivity and turn-by-turn navigation when paired with a smartphone via KTM’s Connect app. It also supports incoming call alerts (not outgoing, because obviously) and music control when used with a compatible Bluetooth headset - all operated via the left handlebar-mounted switchgear.

KTM has also enabled access to features like Supermoto ABS mode (was already present before) and basic display customisation through the TFT interface, allowing riders to adjust shift indicators and screen themes.

Rival Check: KTM 160 Duke vs Yamaha MT-15 V2

With the addition of the TFT console, the KTM 160 Duke now stands on more even footing against the Yamaha MT-15 V2, which also comes equipped with a colour TFT display but is priced lower at Rs 1,65,509 (ex-showroom, Delhi). While both of them offer similar levels of features, the Yamaha still delivers better overall value thanks to its lower price, strong refinement levels, and everyday usability.

ZigSays

The TFT update adds relevance to the KTM 160 Duke and helps it stay competitive in a feature-driven segment. However, when the price is taken into account, the Yamaha MT-15 V2, at Rs 13,027 less than the baby Duke, continues to make a stronger value-for-money case between the two.
