Hero has launched the Xtreme 250R in India and is priced at Rs 1,79,900 (ex-showroom, Delhi).
The Hero Xtreme 250R gets a very aggressive sporty design. The sharp tank extensions, sculpted fuel tank, the angular LED headlight, split-seat setup and a high rise tail section add to the sporty characteristics of the motorcycle. The gold coloured fork and the bronze tank cover give the bike a premium touch which will make it more appealing to a wider range of audience. The bike is available 3 colour schemes: Yellow, Black and Red.
The Hero Xtreme 250R is powered by a brand-new 250cc single-cylinder, liquid-cooled engine which makes 30PS and 25Nm, and is paired to a 6-speed gearbox. The Xtreme 250R gets a steel trellis frame, while the suspension setup consists of an inverted fork and a preload adjustable monoshock. The braking setup includes a 320mm petal disc at the front and 230mm petal disc at the rear with switchable dual-channel ABS. The bike has 17-inch alloy wheels at both ends. It has a seat heigh of 806mm and a ground clearance of 167mm. The motorcycle has a small 11.5-litre furl tank capcity and weighs in at 167.7kg kerb.
In terms of features, the Hero Xtreme 250R gets a digital instrument cluster which supports smartphone connectivity via Bluetooth. It also gets all LED lighting, riding modes, turn-by-turn navigation, call/SMS alerts, traction control and dual-channel ABS which can be switched off for the rear wheel. The motorcycle also has a USB charging port for added convenience.
The Hero Xtreme 250R goes against the likes of KTM 250 Duke, Triumph Speed T4 and the Husqvarna Vitpilen 250 in India.
